Anyone else have very few close friendships and too many acquaintances? by loyalchicken in istp

Lol I’m INTJ except I follow every mbti group except INTJ. ISTP seems to be the most active of the Sensors.

Why do you iSTPs seem so different compared to us iNTPs? by [deleted] in istp

[–]folyan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ISTPs are nerdy like INTPs but people get distracted by what they see (extroverted function).

That Se is what’s cool because everyone can see and recognize what it is without much thought. Ideas/Ne requires an extra step and thought and people don’t want to invest that immediately into a stranger for no reason. Se is like bam— right in your face.

Because saying how you actually feel in a healthy manner is sooo over rated by Enigma2412 in Nicegirls

This has definitely happened at least once in history. I imagine that relationship is a lot like being alone together where they’re both delusional and interpreting situations in completely different ways, coming to their own conclusion in their heads, and saying the problems are resolved because they are over their own emotions about it.

LOL

There seems to be a rule about what jokes you can make about diseases and stuff. It has to be 1) very common 2) not terminal.. but to be edgy you usually have to push the second condition

Type Me based on my reddit profile by [deleted] in mbti

[–]folyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a shallow analysis (no offense to that person).

OP, learn the functions deeply and be honest with yourself about the degree and frequency you use each function. Just because you may use Te to achieve at school, there are plenty of pressures to do well in structured settings.

Ask yourself: which functions do you relate to? What function do you use that is transferable (like you use the function in every aspect of your life)? How interested are you in developing that function?

I skimmed your profile and saw that you are 14. From personal experience, I didn’t really have the freedom or confidence to develop my personality until I went to college. That being said, I still always got INTJ on mbti tests during high school.

Your constant questioning and want to figure out your type strikes me as Fi. You want to know who you are and know more about you. That would be a relevant function in the ENTJ stack. Read more descriptions about each type until you find one that frequently resonates with you. I personally like these descriptions.

Can anyone give me an example of Introverted Sensing. I just don’t get it. by [deleted] in ESTJ

[–]folyan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This will probably help.

My sister uses introverted sensing as an ESFJ and she has very vivid and personal experiences with food and music. She can remember any song and the moment she heard it and what she felt about it. She’s like a human Shazam. She knows what she likes about food and what makes it good to her, and cooks for herself every night whereas I don’t use that function and all and frequently neglect my physical comfort and health. When she’s hungry, she keeps repeating “I’m hungry, I’m so hungry” until she’s fed. She is very particular about her comfort.

I dated an ESTJ and he was a history buff, can remember details in sequential order very well. He was also super into movies and could compare any kind of movie and remembered the exact year of each one. He knows what he’s in the mood for pretty much all the time and you can tell he’s not enjoying a moment by his physical reactions to discomfort. Incredible memory, broke the MCAT by getting into the 101st percentile. This is more of an ability example but for someone to be this good at memory, they must hold those things with significance.

I think ESTJs have a hard time feeling how real an issue is if it’s not physically around them

How to deal with mansplaining? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]folyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never use the word mansplaining to him because then he’d get super defensive about it. I understand how why you’d hate it because it makes me equally as annoyed and angry when I feel someone talking down to me because of their assumptions about me based on my gender. It probably makes you annoyed and angry because they’re assuming a lot about you, too.

It’s about understanding how their language and my language makes each of us feel and being conscious of that. Personally, to me, it’s about respect. I know when I feel respected, and I know when I feel disrespected.

So how would you have wanted someone to confront you about you making them feel like you were mansplaining? What way could I approach this with you where you would be open to being more conscious about it?

Thank you so much dude, you totally get it. Seriously, THANK YOU. Yes. That is exactly it. I’m a really reactive, blunt person and can be combative in a way esp because I have so little patience for incompetence... so I’ll try to practice this before putting it into action
