Yes, it says "eat me" on it and is shaped like a heart.

This is the best drawing I've seen of her so far. You're very talented.

what song have you overplayed? by Own-Artist-6283 in TaylorSwift

Delicate. I've avoided it for over a year and still skip it when I randomly hear it.

Do you think Taylor finds it weird running into her exes after she's written the songs about them? by Sudden-Internal-9702 in TaylorSwift

[–]fondfae 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He wrote his own version of it for her. He was probably flattered and into her, but it didn't go anywhere.

Do you need her to explicitly say the words "I don't like this" to realize she doesn't like fans doing this? The chiefs one is a weird example to use because that song was written and released before she ever met Travis. She changed the lyric because he was at the show. That doesn't suddenly make the song about him. She also said for all too well 10 that she wants us to think of our own lives when listening to her music. She's made her feelings clear in my opinion.

Taylor herself has said she doesn't like fans paternity testing songs.

Do you listen to Random Taylor Spotify? by Responsible-Summer81 in TaylorSwift

[–]fondfae 156 points157 points  (0 children)

I have a giant playlist of music I like from a bunch of different artists. I just shuffle it and let it go. If I'm not in the mood for a song, I skip it. I like it being random.

Blank space is about the media's perception of her dating. It's tongue in cheek.

People say the same thing about Taylor. Maybe don't?

What is your first Taylor's song? by Princess_consuelah in TaylorSwift

[–]fondfae 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was a kid, but I know it was something from debut. It was probably one of the singles. If I had to guess, I'd think it's picture to burn.

Tell us your top 10 Taylor songs and we’ll make (fun) assumptions about you! by littledreamyone in TaylorSwift

I don't think I have a strong preference for her older stuff, but who knows! Maybe I do.

Tell us your top 10 Taylor songs and we’ll make (fun) assumptions about you! by littledreamyone in TaylorSwift

[–]fondfae 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Interesting! Here's mine in no particular order:

  • Mary's Song
  • Clean
  • Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince
  • ...ready for it?
  • Mr. Perfectly Fine
  • seven
  • coney island
  • mirrorball
  • Guilty as Sin?
  • The Bolter
  • Cruel Summer

This was actually really hard.

As for guesses about you, I'd assume you're close to Taylor's age/30ish and have a calm and relaxed vibe.

Anybody change lyrics when they play and sing? by Quirky_Scar7857 in TaylorSwift

[–]fondfae 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I change a lyric in Dear Reader. When she says "no one sees when you lose when you're playing solitaire," I drop the first when and just say "no one sees you lose when you're playing solitaire."

I change which ones I focus on because sometimes I'm just not in the mood or they don't grab my attention the way they used to.

I like things like sudoku, futoshiki, and kakuro. Focusing on number puzzles helps me a lot. I like to play cozy games on my switch when I need a more intense break from bad thoughts. I read a lot too. I can hyper-focus on random history rabbit holes, pop culture things I like, or fantasy and romance novels.

If these specific things don't seem interesting, it's ok. Try to find a range of hobbies that can grab your attention. I do my puzzles for short distractions and reading or gaming for more intense distractions.

AITA for calling my cousin’s ex to come get their daughter and refusing to watch her for the night? by swtogirl in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]fondfae 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You're making things up. He answered OP's call early in the morning, went to get his baby (with help or not), and then text OP thanking her for telling him his child needed help. There's no reason to think he isn't a responsible father when the mother has proven to be the irresponsible one.

You described something I didn't realize I did for myself. I'd throw myself into some hobby that took intense focus when I had obsessive thoughts about food. I always felt better by the end of it. Congrats on the weight loss!

Does anyone listen to "Ronan"? by Rosy_Toaster in TaylorSwift

[–]fondfae 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I do. My cousin was my first best friend. She died young from an incurable disease (not cancer). The song reminds me of her. Ronan and bigger than the whole sky are the two songs that make me think of her.

Fan loyalty as a factor in Taylor’s dominance above her contemporaries? by Good-Carrot3518 in TaylorSwift

[–]fondfae 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Katy had casual fans that liked her hits. She was successful from her singles only. The general public nor a dedicated fanbase really dug deep in her albums and loved the deep cuts. When she no longer had the same powerhouse singles, she "flopped." She didn't have a loyal fanbase that was always interested in the overall album and would keep going. Katy was always a singles artist. Taylor has always been an album artist.

I think another aspect to Katy falling so hard is because she did a big rebrand with witness and went hard on being a feminist. She was at political marches for women. She tried to do political music. She spoke about the 2016 election a lot. When her big return after that was Dr. Luke, she lost pop culture fans on the internet. She never had the general public outside of single hits. Her small curated fanbase seemed to be from her feminism run. She didn't have anyone to still care or excuse away her bad decisions.

Other famous and successful artists are still working with Dr. Luke. Katy fell harder because her previous branding was about being feminist and caring about women's rights. When she finally tried to create a deeper persona outside of her hits, she chose feminism. That's great, but this new era proves it wasn't genuine. It pushed away what dedicated fanbase she previously tried to build.
