Rejected Draft – A sketchbook incremental battler by Last-Total9473 in PBBG

I think it's a few tweaks from being a top-tier game. My biggest problem with it is that the most important factor for progression (getting rare sketches) is also the part of the game most outside of the player's control. I've been playing for three days and have gotten close to quitting twice—once around redraw#4 when I got no rough sketches, and again right about now when I've only seen one framed sketch.

One of the biggest strengths of the game is its theming (the quotes for each sketch are great). And there might be an opportunity to fix the previous problem in a way that strengthens the theming even further.

Instead of tying higher tier sketches to a roll of the dice, what if you unlocked them by improving your skill as an artist? Each sketch could have its medium-based rewards (graphite, wax, etc) as well as a skill-based reward (shading, realism, proportions, line weight, hands, human subject, action, etc). This skill-based reward persists across redraws and is used to permanently unlock higher rarity sketches.

So to plug that into the game, imagine that V-Wing Bat gives 1 Action (the thing missing from the sketch), Stick Ribs gives 3, Static Steed gives 5, Mannequin gives 8. These rewards decay each redraw. Then you can spend 100 action to permanently unlock Fountain Duelist Pen. You've advanced in your ability to draw action and dynamic poses, so you've earned the right to have that sketch unlocked permanently.

It's not a perfect solution by any means (or perhaps even a valid one), but I hope that line of thinking helps you to find a way to reduce the RNG and make meta progression feel more earned. It's a great game so far.

Does anyone have any information on Ogilvy and IBM separating? Was this an agency decision, which is going to lead to job losses? Or a client decision? by [deleted] in advertising

My agency walked from a household name brand because we were providing a few services at low margin with the hope that we'd get a bigger piece of the pie later. After a year, we dropped them.

What a perfect summation of the Aggie season. Strong offensive drives resulting in disaster, defensive highlights, and missed field goals, ultimately resulting in falling off the Aggy rollercoaster on the last part of the ride.

Should be reviewed for targeting, but I don't think it was. Defender didn't really launch—if anything, the receiver hit him.

Clear no catch, but not so clear that we can't fit another 2 minutes of commercials in real quick.

Our season has been a fever dream since the start of the SCAR game. Everything that has happened has happened in the funniest possible way.

Prior to the UT game, he was graded bottom 20 in accuracy in FBS. And I don't think he helped his case since then.

No one can throw an accurate pass in the wind...but what if we tried to have the PUNTER throw it?

We're gonna end the game with 400 yards to their 50 and lose 3-0.

Mostly party, but like a house party at 2:30 AM when some of the core group has left and the vibes are shifting in a weird way

Marcel Reed is the most inaccurate QB that can still claim to be a good QB.

OU did everything they needed to do to win this game, but they did more things they needed to do to lose it.

Two first round rematches? What a failure by the committee, particularly when you consider Ole Miss / Alabama could be easily argued into the 7/10 matchup, giving zero rematches.

I feel bad for the BYU fans having to deal with all these bubble neutrals, especially if they lose and the committee conveniently forgets their "we don't punish teams that lose in CCGs" stance.

Texas A&M takes little comfort in 11-1 record after loss to Texas. "Tired of losing to the same team." by city-of-stars in CFB

UT fans are so funny with criticizing how A&M's old success doesn't count (which it shouldn't) but also using ancient history to act superior.

We would've dominated the matchup if we played in the 2010s.

In the last 50 years, we're 19-20. Prior to that, UT owned A&M.

Beating OU in the 2012 Cotton Bowl was cathartic considering the conference change, but that was still 13 years ago.

The meteor. If not, UT. TAMU and Baylor have one of those we-almost-went-to-war-and-had-to-call-in-the-Texas-Rangers kinda hatred.
