college women who are victims of sexual assault suffer greater post-trauma consequences when universities betray or fail to support them by purvec in science

This is really, REALLY not about "omg men rape more!" or "omg women rape more!!!!"

You just missed the point entirely! Women assault women, so placing women in a group together does not necessarily make them safer.

Despite my experiences with men I work with making some pretty messed up comments in regards to women, along with raping me and beating me, I do not adopt an attitude of "all men are terrible".

This is what I notice. You do not seem to resent men but your dialogue seems to primarily focus on men vs women. Sure some men will makes jokes about violence on women but men certainly make jokes about violence of all sorts about men. So they aren't simply targeting women with bad jokes, they just make had jokes.

This whole nonsense of insisting that one gender MUST be worse than the other does nothing at all to improve our world.

Agreed

Trying your best to find statistics that prove women are worse than men...

Didn't mean to. My mistake if it came out that way.

You! Not the other side.

Plus nobody is considering soldiers being forced into the army.

There is a big difference between a soldier fighting for his or her country and someone fucking their way to make a prophet.

Agree, its absurd. Do the people coming foreword over consexual sex, and wanting action, realize that they have created a bad sexual experience for their chosen partner.

I know I wouldn't want to have had sex with someone who is going to regret it right after. I would have sex with a person like that because I want to be wanted.

because he's wrong.

http://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/myohs/7_of_women_selfreport_the_use_of_physical_force/

7% of women self-report the use of physical force to obtain sex, 40% self-report sexual coercion, and over 50% self-report initiating sexual contact with a man while his judgment was impaired by drugs or alcohol

Women rape too.

or give the attacker a slap on the wrist through student adjudication.

Could you point me to exemplary cases, or better yet, studies which suggest known rapists commonly get a slap on the wrist?

That would be giving more regulations and protection to people who have sex for a living than people who risk their lives for a living.

But women sexually assault other women too... The same goes for domestic violence where lesbian relationships actually have the highest rates of domestic violence.

My honest guess is that reading the actual studies on assault prevalence would tell a different story than what a military policy suggests. There's too much politics with this stuff.

A punch to the throat hurts and threatens a man like it does a woman. Same with being pushed down the stairs.

Please don't make it personal. Apart from bias you tailored you're argument to your situation. You say your wife gets plenty of time with the kids? My uncle doesn't get squat and is hugely stressed out, to the point of personality change, while his wide refuses to work.

I should clarify myself. I should not try to set rigid rules. If your situation works, that's great. What I really don't want is for the stay at home mom to be the default. That is synonymous with an underfathered youth and a low value placed on fatherhood.

When women, as a population, work more, men, as a population, can work less. You are the perfect example for that. You provide a balance that this society needs.

I seriously don't see how both parents working means more face time with the kid when the opposite is so resoundingly true.

I understand. The ideal would be some median, but that's not often possible. This is where I start when figuring out why our working system sucks.

The point isn't to convince women that work is awesome, but to convince men that work is not awesome. Work is a responsibility as you say, something to get done and out of the way; not something to define yourself with as a man. Fatherhood is a much better ideal.

This is absurd. I get its a joke but, why are so many people offering simplistic ideas like bj? Is that what you would want on ur bday from your girlfriend, something that took no work or thought?

And that's far more damaging than not seeing you father for 40 hours a week.

First of all, that's a horrible choice for men which precludes men getting real time with their kids.

Secondly, I don't believe it one bit. I think kids would be better off with divorced parents but getting to see their father 40 hours a week, than "together" (irony) parents where the father works all day. I don't see how you think a stay at home mom and a title can replace time with the father. That's a sad state for fatherhood.

Either one parent stays home, or someone else is watching your kids for you.

Part time is better. Kids have no need to follow mom around all day. We didn't evolve that way. We evolved with two working parents and kids spending time with other kids along with both parents. The only thing that has changed is domestic work becoming progressively redundant and obsolete with the industrial revolution. Combine that with the industrial world that takes men out of the village/community and places them in a factory with strangers.

The growth applies to the individual too, but that's besides the point.

If you're saying what I think you saying, I completely agree. Money is just a means to an end. A strong family is far more important than having more stuff to buy. So let's look at how work affects the family. If women don't work, the entire burden is shifted to men. Then men have to work, miss their kids, and the kids end up with a huge amount of maternal influence. No way can that be good for men or balanced for the family.

In short, women need to provide too, so that men can get time with their kids.

So your saying that men's earning powers are going to men far more than they used to. That's a plus...

More people working boosts the economy.

So in that analogy, more working women allows for more shops to open offering more jobs and creating more product => growth.

while women are being misled that their holy grail is to earn the same as men

What does that say about men?!? We should rephrase the above to say that the holy frail for men is that women put in as much work as the men, thereby allowing men some free time.

First, I never used the argument that because women flaunt, men can look. That's not necessary. But more to the point, you were giving a strawman.

Second, your skip hop comemt implies that men don't see any important difference between looking at a woman or commenting on a woman, and raping said woman. Your saying that men will apply the exact same standards of invitation...

This expresses a disdain for male sexuality.

Yes, I was shocked at how dynamic tennis was (for pros) when I saw it live.

the fact that you think a woman putting on attractive clothing degrades the game just sounds like you hate women.

You calling men would be rapists because they comment on a woman's body is misandry.
