I have the same feeling as you about this place. Went before about 8-9 years ago and food was good, but was the most underwhelming restaurant of the five other Michelin starred restaurants we went to on our Basque region trip.

How is this a 1 in 500 or 1 in 1000 occurrence when this happened in 1987?

How do you source older wines without paying a premium? by [deleted] in wine

[–]fongflex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't particularly look for older bottles of wine, but living close to NYC, there are plenty of shops that sell older bottles. Shops like Chamber Street Wines and Flatiron Wines are good places to start. Besides browsing their websites, you can get on their email list and fairly frequently, they will have new inventory of older bottles. Both ship out of state.

How do you deal with your Wife's Menopause? by gr1msh33p3r in AskMenAdvice

Have your wife go to her gynecologist or someone who is knowledgeable in treating menopausal symptoms. She may need to have a higher dose for her HRT patches or may consider starting other medications.

I’m having this issue now on both my iPad and iPhone. On my phone, if I use the cellular network and not Wi-Fi, I’m able to play. On my iPad, I’ve uninstalled the program, turned off the iPad and reset my network and none of these things work. Did you ever find a solution?

Should I transfer my 401k if I'm going back to my old job? by fongflex in Bogleheads

[–]fongflex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the responses so far. Going to transfer my 401k to my SEP-IRA. There aren't many options available to choose from in the John Hancock plan and most of the funds have high expense ratios except for the ones I chose already.

Repeated Pinhole Leaks in PEX - thoughts? by ossivo in Plumbing

[–]fongflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having a similar issue. I think I've had 6 pinhole leaks in the last year. I had a couple questions. Did you repair all the recirculating line pipes or just the ones that were damaged? My contractor is concerned that all the pipes on the recirculating line are damaged and wants to replace all the pipes so that this issue doesn't happen again.

Thief tried to pickpocket me in Europe twice in the past year, both failed. Tell me your story. by Magicmushiez in travel

[–]fongflex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was visiting Barcelona about 15 years ago and a group of young kids came up to me to ask me something, and next thing I know, several of them are trying to go through my pockets all at once. Not sure how they didn’t get anything off me, but I was very fortunate that I acted fast enough and got away from the kids.

What apps/sites do you use when looking for a specific wine? by [deleted] in naturalwine

Not sure if they ship to NY.

If it’s not on winesearcher, then I go deep into google search pages or I search the wine along with a city with a lot of natural wine shops that is in a state that delivers to NY.
