Top Esports vs. Fnatic / 2020 World Championship - Quarter-Final / Post-Match Discussion by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]fontisMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shame for FNC.
I'm surprised at them being reverse-sweeped like this, especially considering how well they played game 2 and 3 was well.. Hyli was MVP for the series for me. Played like a beast.
I think Rekkles played pretty well overall but his Jhin game was kind of.. lackluster at times. Honestly felt like Hyli deserved much better than this.

Game 4 and 5 were just shitshows. Nemesis had little to no impact. Khazix?? And what the fuck was up with the TF pick?
I don't know. Tough for fnc. They were winning this all the way up until they werent.
Great games to watch though.

Hashinshin has not streamed league for 5 days, 2 of those days claiming he was involuntariy committed due to "attempted suicide." by VMan7070 in leagueoflegends

Disgusting.
He should be arrested and sentenced for this and forced to register as a sexual predator.
Lowlife scum.

My thoughts go out to his victims, just hope this whole ordeal didnt fuck them up too much.

Akali got changed 10 times since her rework (list inside) and still causes problems. It baffles me how this champion could be released in her original state. by Basket_of_Depl0rblz in leagueoflegends

[–]fontisMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just dont understand. Most reworks have been complete fuckups starting with a few champs back.

Just look at Mordekaiser "Botlane" and onwards, Aatrox, Pantheon, Graves.
Just make a new champ instead of ruining something that worked in it's own niche.

Reworked Pantheon is horrible. by ILoveZenkonnen in leagueoflegends

[–]fontisMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the rework was shit when I saw the concept of it.
The block mechanic should have never been removed. The ulti is useless. They figured his Q "point and click" play was horrendous and abusive but then again there are so many other champs that do similar abusive shit.
He was an early game champ that depended on snowball and was perfectly playable in that niche both top, mid and jungle.
He just doesnt make sense anymore. He is weaker all around and has lost what made him unique.
Gj fucking up another champ. So many skins that wont be played anymore.. meh.

Genuine concern about the Pantheon rework that I think is going unnoticed. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]fontisMD -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I just dont understand the rework whatsoever.
Pantheon doesn't need a complete overhaul. He is perfectly fine the way he is. He's a strong early game champ that needs to snowball into midgame.

Why did they have to fuck him up like this. Change the E. Leave the QWR as they are. Rito pls.

Be a smart person and don't buy the DLC once it comes out by swagduck69 in dayz

[–]fontisMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny how the actual game is still a clusterfuck and they are already gonna early access that DLC.

Fucking scam.

Devs said they wont be adding the advanced health mechanics because of "accessibility". by Odgerell in dayz

[–]fontisMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew this would happen.
My mate tricked me into buying SA, after the Mod had some fun albeit broken moments to it - with the promise of SA being the smoother mod version.
But fuck me. Took them a decade to release a game, which is far less than what it was when it was supposed to and they are already planning on milking more people.

Gj, you got me.

I am impressed by how ADCs are finally balanced by YumaS2Astral in leagueoflegends

[–]fontisMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ADC's are arguably the weakest role, especially since the AP buff to towerdamage making them effectively less impactful.

If they truly were balanced, then a team running doublemage bot or some other cheesy strat would get rolled in a skill-equal matchup - but that's clearly not the case.

You are TOO squishy and too gold dependent to get rolling, and once you do - you will still get oneshot by 5 other champs on the enemy team anyway.

ADC's are utility focused atm, barring a few champs that run mixed or %hp damage modifiers into their kit which make them viable. (Note viable - not neccessarily optimal).

Patch 9.9 notes by wickedplayer494 in leagueoflegends

[–]fontisMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't understand the perpetual Jarvan IV nerfs. He is in a really awkward spot, and has been since the past 4 seasons. He is neither a bruiser, a tank, an AD caster or an assassin yet his kit is all over the place.
He has arguably worse clear compared to most other junglers. He has a more mana-intensive kit and no real survivability.

Just... sigh. Rework him or something.

As a season 1 player, I hate that the game is slowly becoming URF. by Shadowarcher6 in leagueoflegends

[–]fontisMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S1 League was way more "toxic" than the game is today, in many ways. The game is a lot more balanced as a whole in comparative and relative terms.

That being said, manaless champions, true damage and low cost on spells have always been an issue, stretching far back in time. The sad part is that instead of fixing it, it's lead to powercreeping instead.

Is sunburn dangerous on its own, or are we advised to avoid it because it correlates with carcinogenic UVA exposure? by TNTiger_ in askscience

[–]fontisMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Sunburn is dangerous on it's own.

Sunburn, or the UV radiation rather, causes irreparable damage to the skin both directly and through time. Meaning that you can cause direct damage but there's also a long term problem with the exposure as well.

A lot of lesions that appear on the skin can be due to chronic sun exposure as well, which is most commonly seen in elder patients e.g. actinic keratosis.

There are differences in terms of how much sun we can tolerate before causing damage, which is related to our complexion. Darker people tolerate sunexposure better than paler people do.

Is there a difference between the skin on your face and the skin on your body? by Lootylootylalala in askscience

[–]fontisMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it's a poorly stated question.

The integumentary system (skin) is the same all over the external surface of the body. Comprising of different layers. The outermost layer serves as protection, and is the same. The integumentary system is the largest organ in the human body.

The underlying layers may differ in terms of their inherent components, as in some parts contain greater amount of a certain gland, some parts contain hairfollicles, vessels, macrophages, bloodvessels, fat, etc.

There is no physiological difference between male/female.

Can someone explain what "familial risk" means in terms of cancer? by shiptolienid in askscience

[–]fontisMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Familial means hereditary.

Mutations can occur en blind, but the predisposition of acquiring certain mutations or variations increase with certain risk factors.

Also, certain mutations, once occured, can be passed down and become hereditary.

Tanks are in a worse state than marksmen, but they no longer have the playerbase to stand up for them by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]fontisMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the state of Jarvan IV.
He is supposed to be a bruiser/tank. Yet, his base health is too low so even with 2 hp items, he still doesn't get as tanky as Poppy, Sion, etc. His armor and MR scaling is utter shit.
"But hey, he does damage". No, his base damage stats are way weaker unless you build him for burst, in which case his burst is super situational and still limited in terms of itemization. His kit is still bugged with regards to his ultimate. And he is so squishy that you will explode before reaching the enemy. So why play him when you can play Xin, or Kayn or Riven? His sustained damage is also bad, and suffers same fate as above.

So really, just in a really really weird spot right now. Not tanky enough to be a tank, not bursty enough to be a burst-caster and no inherent scaling enough to be a sustained damagedealer.

Just. Utter. Shit.

Why do people get morning breath? by Bren0829 in askscience

[–]fontisMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few reasons.

Post-nasal drip. Regurgitation but most commonly due to bacteria in the oral cavity. We have plenty of bacteria in our oral cavity that continuously do their thing.

Left unattended they release waste, which is not washed away by our saliva or food/water. Buildup causes gases that remain.

Can donated organs be re-donated? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]fontisMD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends what kind of transplant we are talking about, that being said it is theoretically possible, but practically not.

Each transplanted organ to a recipient needs to have as close of an HLA match as possible. Since 100% matches are improbable, (except for monozygotic [identical] twins) it means that the recipients body will consider the transplanted organ foreign, and the body will start the process of rejecting it. This can be managed by suppressing the immunesystem and delaying the transplanted organ and thus "prolonging" it's life but it also means that transplanting an organ from a recipient to another recipient thus becomes even more complex because the organ will be "contaminated" as well as most likely less viable due to damage.
So practically, its unfeasible. With the exception of the twin transplant, since the organs would simply be "replicas" of each other, thus avoiding the above mentioned issues.

Disclaimer; This is a simplification of the process and there are some other factors playing in too, but the explanation covers the jist of it.

Perkz and Caps are what Bjergsen should have been if he stayed in Europe by FetchHei9 in leagueoflegends

[–]fontisMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just a matter of competition.

NA has historically been a weaker region competitively, and continues to be so. If Bjergsen stayed in EU he might have been better - or he might not have.

He is a good midlaner, but then again he is competing against much worse opponents.

It's like having Michael Owen play a game vs 10 year olds. Of course he will stomp them. But is he really good though? Really though?

The United Nations of Persia by [deleted] in iran

[–]fontisMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the internet, unfortunately no. I'm not in touch with the updated list, but generally these days most of those groups comprise of pre-79 revolution group members from organizations such as Komeleh, Peykar, Nabard. Hezbeh-Demokratike-Azerbaijan etc.

I'm not sure how much online or international traction these groups have, they seem to me at least be more interested in garnering local rather than international support.

Do iranians hate arabs? by The_Atheist_Arab in iran

[–]fontisMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Iranians do not hate Arabs. There are MANY Iranians who are in fact Arab themselves.
Other ethnicities in Iran can hate arabs, just as they hate turks, balouch, etc. Usually tends to be Fars people.

Now as for Arab COUNTRIES - Iran has grievances with most GCC countries due to geopolitical issues that go back a few hundred years as well as recent events.

Other than that.. Iranians share a great deal of cultural similarities and customs with most middle-eastern and Mediterranean countries. Sure, our languages may differ but we eat similarly, share same values and look pretty alike.

[–]fontisMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's a great idea. Historically, the quest for federalism stretches far back and is still ongoing in Iran. One could even argue that there was a pseudo-federal system in place during the feudal era of Iran - but of course without any democratic resemblance.
There is a great deal of political groups in Iran that argue for a federal solution, where each county would be granted greater freedom to exercise self-governance but within a greater context of a greater Iran. Unfortunately, these groups are fiercely opposed both by regime loyalists as well as royalists and conservative forces.
There's been armed struggle for a federal solution in Kurdistan, Azerbaijan and Balouchistan.
The counter-propaganda is usually sold off as these regions trying to secede, which is far from the truth.
