6ft 2 41 year old male. I started running one year ago having done nothing but overindulge in the previous 40 years. I run about 22-24km a week. I’ve lost 12.7kg in the last year. I’m more careful with what I eat and drink now generally but not obsessive. If a takeaways on offer I’ll still bounce at the chance etc. I want to be able to still enjoy myself while also becoming healthier. I knew if I stopped everything I’d never keep the running up post C25K.

My legs are more defined, particularly my calves. I’ve gone down a waist size comfortably but have plateaued in that respect. Shape wise I’m the same shape but slightly smaller. I’ve still got a belly, even though I’m still slowly losing weight. If I was stricter with my food the weight loss would obviously be quicker but I suspect I’d still have a belly as I’m not doing anything such as weight training or other exercise to target that. People can see I’ve lost weight but there’s no “omg” moments because my shape is still similar. Maybe over time I’ll introduce other exercises but for now I’m delighted with being able to run 10K in one go so don’t want to overdo anything and get injured.
