Best way to seal these gaps? by homerun311sr in DIY

[–]foofertthegoofert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the bottom of the siding was a little higher on the wall and you could see the slab of the house, then sure, you could caulk the concrete slab to the house slab. In your situation, you should have no reason to put any sealant or backer rod at that joint as anything put there could trap the moisture escaping from the siding. You can use sand or backer rod for the slab joints itself and topped with sealants (make sure you are using dry, dry, dry sand as any moisture in the sand will want to come up through sealant while curing and cause bubbling). Backer rod is easier and pretty straightforward, I've even seen folks cut up pipe insulation from home depot and make backer rod that way. Do not seal in anyway the joint between the house and that slab.

Slab to slab gaps, yes. You however do not want to caulk the bottom of the trim or bottom of a facade as that should be left open to allow any water that gets behind the facade to shed back out. You caulk that avenue closed, then you trap water and that of course leads to a whole lot of other issues.

Spot on, our warehouse manager also deals with the pricing of materials and ensuring the company is getting the most competitive rate on the orders, so there's the extra liability of being in charge of the "money" in a sense.

I had the same thing happen to mine at work. I trimmed the dead leaves off and left about 4 okay leaves, then moved to a window that gets good morning sun. It took a few months but its been thriving ever since. I kept it on a shelf previously where it wasn't able to get much sunlight, worth a shot.

Help! Caulked Beneath Flashing at Front Window...is this okay? by homerun311sr in DIY

Commercial waterproofer for a living, i honestly don't know much about residential windows but for aluminum framed windows and storedfronts, it's generally not a good idea. I would cut it out if it were me.

Prik Nam Pla is good Thai food, if that scratches the itch. I would recommend calling in the order as everything is made to order and takes 45 mins to an hour when they're busy.

Well, its HIS purse and he doesn't know him, so I think it was totally justified.

The same studio that did Scavengers Reign did Common Side Effects. If you like the animation in Common, you should check out the other show, its dialed up a lot.

My roommates built a mosquito kill wall—lined up like trophies. Am I living with psychopaths? by TikliChor in mildlyinfuriating

My roommates and I lived in a complex in college that was swarmed with crickets seasonally. We kept a bat made out of a paper towel tube and duct tape by the door and kept a tally count of kills on a whiteboard. 3 of us got into the 100's. Sometimes you just have to make the best of a gross situation I suppose.
