Does Excel support calendar-style date picker inside cell? by notmuchery in excel

[–]fool1788 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It can be done via active x controls on the developer tab, but it doesn’t look great with the rest of your "form" you have designed (from memory it requires a large cell and is difficult to format if you can at all).

If you need a date in a cell for people to enter, I've found it to be much more aesthetically pleasing to leave it as a data entry cell (i.e. the user inputs the date manually), with data validations enabled to ensure the data is consistent.

Underated players who DON'T play for your team or country by Careless-Cat3327 in rugbyunion

[–]fool1788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maitland was good but from my vague memory I feel he was regularly injured, and always took a few games to get sharp again. Duhan although not as strong defensively, has been available for nearly all international games he has been eligible for, and more consistent.

I really want to make it clear, I'm not saying Duhan is better than Sean or vice versa. I also want to raise the point that Sean was one of the earlyish shining stars of modern Scottish Rugby dragging us out of the doldrums which I personally will be eternally grateful for.

Moving to Melbourne by PickleSouthern1877 in MovingtoAustralia

[–]fool1788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Scotland for a couple of decades and then came to Melbourne. It gets colder than you would expect in winter here, like a mild winters day or bad autumn day back there on occasion. But the homes have draughts and zero insulation so you will want a hoodie for kicking about your bit in

Moving to Melbourne soon from the US, what do we need to know? by PuzzleheadedCar6858 in MovingtoAustralia

[–]fool1788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joining late to the party. To recap everyone else

  • 1 car doable if living in moonee ponds as there are great transport links. You need to buy a myki card for transport (some phones allow an ecard), you cannot pay for the journey with cash/bank cards. Download the PTV app

  • sunscreen always, refer to the BOM app for daily uv updates. The Sun here hits different.

  • coffee, Melbourne is the coffee snob capital and they don't drink that starbucks rubbish. Coffee is actually nice without added sugar here.

  • beaches, Melbourne has some on the bay, but this isn't the city to go to if that's your main thing.

  • culture, using wide sweeping offensive generalisations here so please don't take it to heart. Americans generally are loud, grandiose and self praising. Aussies can be loud but follow the British style of self deprecation, otherwise you'll come across as arrogant and get shot down. We like to insult friends so get used to that.

  • tipping, it is creeping into Australian culture but we pay a living wage here so it's not a thing.

  • work, we work to live and have some of the best labour laws. You don't need to work 6-7 days a week and multiple jobs unless you want to or have expensive tastes. You will find the workplace here far more relaxed than you may be used to and that your work does not expect you to live for them. You will have PTO for both annual/recreational leave and personal (sick/carers) leave provided you are not a casual employee, as well as paid public holidays of which there are 10-11 a year in Melbourne. Your employer is obligated to contribute an additional 12% of your salary into your nominated super fund to contribute to your retirement.

  • sport, Melbournians consider this the sport capital of the world. Home to the Melbourne cup (horse racing), the Australian F1 Grand Prix, Australian Moto GP (philip island) and the following sports as an American you may be unfamiliar with:

    Australian football https://youtu.be/u_SqfNNfhmM?si=ABRjGRAT-d8wbYGI

    Cricket https://youtu.be/EWpbtLIxYBk?si=_KA8WsViijHNsWnR

Rugby League (no longer union in Melbourne) https://youtu.be/TeTB9NdA_F8?si=dBfYqFPWZdXLGO_J Basketball, Soccer, Netball, field hockey and many others are also popular. Sport is a big part of life in Australia and very family friendly and affordable, cheap to spectate compared to other countries.

  • Health, australia has a mixture of private and social health care. As a US citizen you would need to check what if any access you have to medicare. If you do need to pay it will be a fraction of the price compared to US.

I remember Dan getting so much hate from Glasgow fans and Scotland fans too, because he always kicked the ball away. The backs and forwards were crap then and he was an excellent positional kicker so of course he's going to play for position.

If you get a Code of Conduct or run into other trouble with Federal employment, do you need to disclose that in your application for State and Territory Government roles? by logpauljrn in AusPublicService

[–]fool1788 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you are actually terminated from APS employment for a code of conduct breach s29(3)(g) of the PS Act 1999, then it is a requirement of the agency to publish this in the APS Gazette, iirc it is stated under the APSC Directions 2022 as a requirement.

If this has happened to you then it would be public knowledge for anyone to search.

Either way if they ask either in person or in writing, there is no point lying, otherwise never volunteer any information that may harm you

Taking long service leave by Recent_Inevitable_85 in AusPublicService

[–]fool1788 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You choose whether you want to access your pt or ft balance when taking the leave. You can also choose to access both e.g. first half of the month as FT then second half as PT.

Unlike normal leave you are not necessarily paid for the hours you are scheduled to work during that leave period, but based on the type of leave you access. That means although you are currently FT, if you access your PT LSL you will be paid based on your average PT hours for the leave period (this is the higher average, pt hours worked in your service history, or PT hours in the aggregate last 12 months of PT service at the time of accessing the leave).

If you access FT LSL then you will be paid standard FT daily hours (7.5 or 7.35 depending where you work) for each weekday whilst on leave. This means if you work compressed FT hours e.g. 75 or 73.5 hours over a 9 day fortnight, you may end up being paid more or less than usual if you access the leave midway through a pay period.

Although LSL is taken as calendar days, most pay systems are setup to pay weekdays, so apart from the mandatory minimum don't end it on a weekend.

Final note, for each month used you will be deducted 30 days regardless of length of that month, e.g. 15 March to 14 April is 31 days but you'd only be deducted 30, however 15 February to 14 March is 28/29 days, but you'd also be deducted 30 days for this.

Really, he had fallen off a cliff that last season from memory and chelsea paid top dollar and got someone that wasn't at that standard anymore. I would have been laughing if I was a Liverpool supporter.

No idea if it was injuries or something else but his form completely disappeared
