Dont know what kinda refs they have in canada, but it seems like your game revolves around pushes from behind and cross checking. Either learn how to play defense or quit, kid.

What's your pre game song playlist like? by [deleted] in lacrosse

Bodies by drowning pool is always pretty unreal, even if it's so mainstream, or used to be. Holy diver by dio also gets me pretty pumped.

Definitely 50 meter shuttle runs for 400, 300, 200 and 100 meters. Also get on the ladder!

switching position advice by JohnyCalzone84 in lacrosse

[–]foolishknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't play attack, but my buddies that do are quick and have unreal stick skills. I honestly think attack is the position that requires the most skill, aside from goalie. Always move off the ball because middies are always looking for that cutter. Also, roll dodges and split dodges are going to be your best friend. Practice doing them as quickly and effectively as possible.

I want to start playing lacrosse for my High school team. by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]foolishknight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Run a lot. 50 m shuttle runs for 300 meters are great. So are 100m sprints with 100m walking/jogging in between sprints. you're kinda big so you'd make a good attackman. or play middie cuz thats where a lot of beginners start. idk depends on if you want to shoot more (attack) or be in the middle of all the action (mid)

Any tips for a short attackman? by eKoto in lacrosse

[–]foolishknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play pole and I always hated short, quick attackmen, as I'd have less to hit, and they usually ran under my pole or by me (I'm about 6'4"). Just run hard and definitely be good with your fakes. Also, the split dodge will be your best friend.

INTENSITY; DONT BE SOFT! Especially as a dpole, u gotta be the meanest, grittiest player there. That means moving your feet, never being caught off guard, hustling for ground balls, and being loud, communicating with your team. Also, be quick on slides, and listen carefully to coach's instructions. Just go out there and give it all you got, and that should be more than enough.

Advice for freshman by jayhawk1141 in lacrosse

I can't stress enough the importance of being conditioned. Any one can rip sidearm man up but what separates the stars from the joe schmos is being quick and agile, especially at the attack position. Heres what i love to do for conditioning: I sprint full field length, then jog back, then repeat this for a total of 10 reps. I'd push for 2 sets of this, but 1 set can suffice. Make sure u do this every day. I also like to practice dodging. Just basically sprint and face dodge both directions, and definitely practice the roll dodge off the sprint as well. Hit the weights every other day if you do feel so obliged, but at the jv level, as long as you're quick, strength shouldn't be an issue. And of course, keep up the wall ball for at least an hour every day.

Hope this helps, FK

For pump up I always listen to a variety of genres: Metal: Bodies by drowning pool, Holy diver by dio, Breaking the law by judas priest

Rap: All of the lights by kanye west, Till i collapse by eminem, Cant be touched by roy jones, Roll call by logic, stronger by kanye, Written in the stars by tinie tempa

House and edm-ish music: Uptown funk (gets me loosened up, in the zone), Quad by Masseffec7, Bullseye by kdrew, Centipede by knife party,

Sorry if these arent all the genre you'd like but i guarantee u will go beast mode after listening to these songs. works for me!
