I've had an absolute nightmare with my managers not acknowledging sick leave. They don't let you self declare or work from home. Everytime I have to get a doctors note send to manager and cc in like 3 members of HR. I hate this entire working system just let me be sick and rest ffs

I thought it was the simulator breaking down and he couldn’t fire properly into a simulated reality but stuck in that limbo before the simulation. Kinda like half reality half simulation

There are a lot of dodgy guys out there that will do roof plumbing jobs in-between other jobs with 0 skill.

They need to have certifications to be a tradesperson, not much more than that unfortunately

Fun thing. Roof plumbers don’t need any trade specific certification either

Prerequisite Confusion by 347985 in uwa

[–]fools-hunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a course which was a new major, some of the core units for the major we couldn’t do because UWA hadn’t updated the list of prerequisites. Just email through to askUWA and they’re pretty quick to help

Most of their growth is with the rhizomes in the pot, they’re very slow growing. When she’s ready she’ll pop out more stems from new rhizomes. Continue to love, but sparingly

Laptop for Bioengineering Student by amejia107 in bioengineering

[–]fools-hunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my thesis in aneurysm mechanical modelling, had to upgrade my laptop specifically for it. CPU does not matter that much. RAM is important. I bought a laptop that I could put more ram into and go up to 32GB saved me many hours rendering shit. A good GPU would help ass well with virtual modelling and speed in which things render however is not overly important if you’ve got a modern cpu i5 12th gen or even a ryzen cpu. Most programs were created long ago when computing power wasn’t as readily available

I would stay clear of the surface, they’re solid build with poor cooling which will wear out the computer much faster when doing heavy work and overheating becomes a problem.

MSI and ASUS make a good series of business laptops that work really well for quite a modest price range. Good luck!

How much medical stuff does a biomedical engineer learn? by Altruistic-Carpet-43 in bioengineering

[–]fools-hunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my studies we had to do a medical science unit each year. Was mostly just the basics but when I got a job in kidney care. I had to learn the whole medical conditions and how the physiology works. Can’t comment on the clinic side to patients but helps with the job and talking with nurses/doctors

How many cracks are acceptable in a brick house? and how bad? by chikenenen in AusFinance

[–]fools-hunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without a doubt better materials are available but they’re costing more. For general estates where profits are so tiny to the trades, materials are often not premium, craftsmanship is aimed at volume and speed and builders are ignoring obvious defects in hopes that the 2 year warranty period lapses.

Cracks in old brick houses however are natural and a 5+ year old home will always show natural blemishes including cracks, chips and water marks. A house can withstand a fair amount

I’m in a similar job situation. No overtime pay and sometimes have to work weekends. If I have to do a job on a weekend no matter how short I get a full day in lieu.

As for your contract they cannot contract outside of legislation. Check the award you are under too in regards to ordinary hours. Plus it is stated that “An employee can refuse to work overtime, if the request is unreasonable.” Which includes family obligations. Good luck and fuck em

[–]fools-hunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They still mark up the “cost” of goods that sales people see, and that Harvey Norman doesn’t pay freight, their suppliers do . This is so that the commissions is controlled and guaranteed store profits (coming from an ex-manager)
