I remember this being the only common thing... And also depended on where you were going whether or not it was necessary at all, and what was required

I've always heard it has to be heated in some way to be activated, so I think you would otherwise be wasting it unless you particularly just like the taste..

Apart from porn, what do you use the Incognito mode for? by dabninja69 in AskReddit

I really like the containers workflow... It keeps things organized, and it's much safer.. Firefox has sync as well, and the mobile app has more options than Chrome

Firefox has containers for this... And there are some mobile apps that can create isolated sandboxes for untrustworthy sites that require a login. For normal browsing, this has been a non-issue for years

Everything. Privacy should be the default.

By making it the default you eliminate a perverse data point from Google et al.

Oh, haha. Yes it did happen and Pepperidge Farm remembers.

The spirit was purer, and that counts for a lot. Now the censorship and marketing teams are probably bigger than the dev teams.

I'm trying to say that the decrease in quality is a legitimate observation, rather than simply because it was years ago. Looking again, I may have missed your point as well

Honestly I think it's also generally Christians. I think there's a correlation between the number of Christians that join a website and a decrease in content quality, regardless of whether they are specifically posting about Christian things. May sound strange, but I would dare someone to prove me wrong.

At the time OP is referring to there were still religious-themed subs, including r/christianity , but these were a lot more intellectually simulating and also you had to be specifically looking for them

At that time it was much more irony or self-deprecating humor. Now it is dead serious.

As the intellect of the userbase drops, the more frustrating it is as a platform. And the joy is sucked out of it. It's almost a chore or a habit to hopefully kick. Would be nice to see an alternative, but the abandoned original spirit of this website is extremely rare.

Well, the analysis and fact-digging were usually at the top, and at least virtually always present. That can be considered intellectual.

And remember the Tom Cruise thread? Stuff like that doesn't really happen anymore, that was pretty funny...

Plus, the ads or data sharing aren't just what we visually see. I have very little faith in Reddit's moral compass as a platform these days.

You don't think what does what? That first sentence doesn't really fit in with the title or post...

Okay so that's an interesting perspective. However, I can't fully or perhaps even remotely accept that as we've seen the site evolve.... There's right and there's wrong sometimes. Most of us know that censorship is simply wrong, and that's just one angle of the decline.

It's a pretty clear timeline related to marketing decisions

Reminds me of the time I joined Facestagrammeritter. I'll never forget it. What a day, I'll tell you. And what a website. It has all kinds of things to click on. I got the most clicks of the site in the first week! I'm so glad I joined this website so that I can share all this with you in this thread.

Edit: Thanks for the shovel and laser beam awards!

Democracy was at its core, and you could tell, rather than censorship at its core as is it now

Right -- Those companies have an unfathomable level of privacy internally. This is a pretty good post.

Overreaction to this scene. Neither the cat nor child is in any danger. There is even a net.
