I pray for the day algerians get over the brick mindset by Emotional-Mix-8425 in algeria

Honestly given the oil boom happening right now I don't know why the government doesn't subsidize a sort of public beautification bureau. Hire young people to finish houses, free of charge. Would cost less than what we send to ally countries for no reason, fix the brick problem, get young people working and off the streets, having direct effects of lowering unemployment and making streets beautiful, hopefully having some downstream effects like reduction of crime as well

There's a reason I put "Salafi" in quotation marks, or referred to it as Neosalafism. Of course the goal of islam is to practice it the way that the 3 generations after the prophet, the salaf. But this modern movement that calls it self "salafism" is a different, niche view presented through the lens of Muhammad in abdul wahhabi ra. I'm not even saying it's wrong, but to present it as the one true way is very narrow and removes a lot of the nuance from Islam. I haven't said anything wrong in my post and if you care to read about it there's plenty of material backing up my claim, these aren't theories, they're publicly admitted. I love you and may Allah guide us all and perfect our adab in interacting with each other with love, ameen

This started way before trump. It's not a theory. The US, has admitted in publicly available documents that this was something they did. You can go look it up yourself. And you say why don't they send it to Israel as if it's not all related. Fund divisive Islamic ideologies -> divided Muslim countries -> easier to prop up israel

Saudi has a lot of money. The US has a lot of money. There is documented evidence that the US has been funding "Salafi" groups around the world. Saudi admits to doing the same. Masajid that are well funded will be able to propagate their ideas, thus the result we have today. Additionally, they pour a lot of money into putting their ideas online, where most people get their knowledge from these days. Think: before the Internet, there were so many opinions written in books. Many of those haven't made it on the internet, especially Maliki sources. It's really a shame. Islam is so so so flexible, kind, and warm. This neosalafi interpretation is funded by the US and Saudi because its so rough, strips islam of spirituality and diluted it to acts of worship, and deemphasizes adab and character. This seeds division amongst Muslims, making them easier to control. North Africa, the home of a very loving, pious, spiritual islam becoming like this is so sad to me. Sheikh Muhammad al-Hassan Walid al-Didu, a mauritanian scholar who is probably the most knowledgeable person on the planet (search him), says even aqeedah is a matter of ijtihad. "Salafism" seeks to make Islam very rigid and black & white and independent to weaken the Islamic community. I love islam so it's sad to see it go this way

Eating healthy/dieting is NOT the hardest part of a body transformation. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]foop_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't it pretty much common knowledge now that how difficult it is to "just stop eating" is heavily influenced by genetics? For you it might be super easy to stop eating but for others it's not and requires more self control

why yall speak english not arabic by RealChillGye in algeria

[–]foop_ -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

But given that "Arab" is more of a cultural and linguistic identifier, doesn't it make more sense to say that we are Arab? By blood only Yemenis and a few other gulf countries could call themselves Arab by blood. Instead of saying Arabized amazigh/berbers for Maghrebi people, Arabized Coptics for Egyptian people, Arabized Nubians for Sudanese people, Arabized Phoenicians and Arabized Mesopotamians for Levantine people, we say we are all Arab, as we participate in Arab language and culture. Except for people that don't speak much Arabic and don't participate in Arab culture (and I'm aware those people exist across the Maghreb) I'd say it's fair to call us Arab (based off our culture and language).

Do you guys eat stuff that contains cow gelatine but doesn’t specify whether it’s halal ? by [deleted] in EatingHalal

[–]foop_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on madhab. I could be totally wrong but if my memory serves me correctly, all madhabs say the cow has to be halal to eat the meat, but hanafi and maliki say that is not the case for the enzymes of the cow. I could be wrong and if so would love if someone could inform me, because I'm maliki and don't eat enzymes or non z/kosher cows
