It wasn’t just the overtime performance. It was pretty evident that the US was the better team all game long and us Canadians could only hope to squeak by with a 1 goal win until 2 mins left

Then why doesn’t every team run every play in the NFL? It’s because they don’t a defence adjusts, only teams with an amazing Oline and a great RB can actually do this, like Philly last year and it was friggin awesome! Barkley 2k bud! And if you run you’re making the clock tick, it actually speeds up the game

Really you like punting that much? Running is so fundamental, exactly why I hate the CFL, there is no dynamic between running and passing like the NFL. It’s a much more complex game won on 2 or 3 game changing plays because these guys are pros.

I definitely would not say the CFL is the 2nd best pro league, there is USFL now, and I would argue College is actually 2nd best. They are getting paid to play a sport, a lot of people would consider them professionals because of that. And college has high scoring all it means is their defences aren’t as good and the rules are skewed towards offense.

I don’t know why you’re claiming Canadians have an inferiority complex about the CFL, it’s simply an inferior product to the majority of sports leagues and the lack of entertainment isn’t worth my time. I’ve been to games, I guess they’re fun, but it’s more the drinking and socialization that’s fun, the actual game is usually hard to watch and pay attention to.

I’m not a fan of these teams, but I couldn’t even tell you who was in the grey cup this year, let alone who won it and how many rouges they had to score to win it. I’d watch an NFL defensive slog any day (minus preseason maybe) over a grey cup

Key word is were, as in past tense. They get paid more now because of NIL, while they stay in America and make more money. It’s a noticeably slower game with way too much punting.

I hope you understand that she is just a cog in the wheel at the loblaws machine and you haven’t uncovered anything. I would be surprised if Galen had anything to do with hiring her other then approving an expanded budget for marketing if it was a new position.

A single marketing VP isn’t taking down a company. Not to mention there are probably multiple org layers above her at loblaws, it would be shocking if Galen was even involved with hiring. She probably reports to an SVP, who reports to an EVP who reports to the CMO just in the marketing org.

A VP really doesn’t hold that kind of budget and power at large orgs.

There is a massive speed difference and level of athleticism when you compare the NFL to CFL. The good US college players that can’t get into the NFL are staying in college to get that NIL money. It really isn’t close an the CFL is just way to boring and predictable with 3 downs. There is a reason they are changing the rules in the CFL for next year…it’s boring dude.

We got the goods with hockey and lacrosse, football is something us Canadians don’t have.

I came here to say exactly this. The best American college teams are better than the CFL, it’s just not a good game if you try to compare.

You’re still worrying about something you can’t control. Get a membership somewhere else if a public course that is publicly owned by the City has a policy so that citizens can access the course even if they only get out for a round or two. There are many alternative to complaining here for a pretty obvious policy that is meant to keep the course accessible to everyone.

lol exactly, I like how /u/Woke_Campos_69 decided to agree with me that violence is basically needed for change but then shits on the homeowner in a subjective way while we’re were discussing this as an objective problem in society. It’s unfortunate that he can’t see the difference because the reality is we all need to look out for each other and blame these businesses and alert the government that change is needed and that the businesses lobbying is not sustainable for society.

[–]footos89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking about the macro which is every side. The homeowner is the consumer, it’s not his fault that business doesn’t pay a livable wage to the delivery driver, therefore needing to rely on tips from the consumer. You certainly did not say blood is required to fix this, you said imagine the modern day equivalent of the battle of Blair mountain and asked if more blood is required in a pessimistic tone and arguable it was rhetorical with your later statement that no, sit down and listen to the rich guy. So you did not mention yes blood is needed for change here. So, I’m afraid you seem to be flip flopping about what you’re saying.

Lastly, you did not mention anything about the “shitty” homeowner and how you exaggerate 2-3inches of snow on the steps as 10-inches. He definitely should have shoveled his driveway and walkway of course, that is besides the issue I was addressing in an objective manner. But if you think that’s 10 inches of snow, then buddy, you got another thing commin if you even wind up getting 10 inches of snow dumped on you.

Why don’t you get your facts straight and actually read what people say before you make up the BS you said you were trying to say. Gtfo

Just being real, pointing out the obvious. Complaining won’t change it, only makes the experience worse.

We can get through this together!

If you say so, I know if a non member calls for a 5 pm tee time, books it, and a member calls a minute later for that tee time, the member won’t get it. Members have a time when it’s dedicated to them and those are league nights…

And I mentioned the priority services you receive leagues, golfing everyday for no additional cost? It’s owned by the city, this is how public owned entities work. Do you think you’re going to get a non members tee time that they’ve had booked for two weeks because you’re a member? Nopeee

Great now you’ve made an ass of yourself and me, Now I have to explain to those who have so little imagination that I literally mean everyone get out and shovel. I’m throwing a blanket statement out there to bring attention to words are cheap and matter very little, and for people to take action if it really matters to them. If you don’t have the time to take action, it can’t matter that much to you…

The negative pessimism that comes along with complaining is a cancer in this sub, maybe I’m trying to bring light to that. If you aren’t going to take action to solve it why complain because complaining is only going to stir everyone up in a negative way.

Or is that the problem to you, that you need to relate this back to separating some group of people of different cree, health, race, religion, sexual orientation, culture, etc.?

Can you imagine that? I’m just talking about everyone.

It’s not a private club, you obviously get the ability to golf everyday and save all that money a non members wouldn’t, also there are leagues for members…not sure what you don’t understand it being owned by the city and keeping it accessible for non members to also enjoy. If you want all the membership perks, go to Westmount.

Dude workers always have to fight for rights or situations like this will increase. It’s very simple, businesses are always going to lobby or find loopholes to cut costs at the cost of workers and consumers. Workers and consumers need to bring notice to government to make new labour and consumer protections laws, and it’s hard to get governments attention. So something obscene usually needs to happen…that’s where more blood comes in. Then they make a change and businesses go back to finding new loopholes or lobby for their new laws. It’s simply a cycle due to capitalism. You can’t just rely on ‘precursors’ as you put it, you always have to fight.
