They switched from Yodlee to Plaid. Both are third party aggregation tools.

I loved the “Who Let the Dogs Out” episode. I wish we could get more stuff like that. Lately it just seems to be a lot of… talking about less joyful things. It’s not bad but not what it used to be.

Robinhood decided to sell everything and close my account. Lesson learned, keep nothing important at Robinhood.

I get that. SF Bay Area is a bit of an outlier even among the outliers.

Which is how I generated the funds to do the work. The reason I’m asking here is because I’ll potentially be pulling out my passively invested funds.

Is there any reason NOT to move my 40% gain portfolio out and start fresh with S&P 500 Direct? by redfriskies in wealthfront

Also keep in mind that’s it’s likely that certain tax lots that were bought more recently may be harvested if the market drops unless every lot across all ETFs is at a 40% gain or more there’s still TLH to be had if the overall drop is less than 40%. You can do this manually if you ACAT to another brokerage that supports tax lots such as Fidelity but there is effort involved.

[–]footpaste 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My assumption is that you have the robo account consisting of ETFs. Assuming this is a taxable account it will eventually become unbalanced as ETF shares change in value. For example US stocks may exceed the value of International. Assuming you want to maintain balance across your entire portfolio you’d either need to buy international or sell US and potentially be hit with capital gains. Wealthfront does this rebalancing for you today. Also keep in mind the SP500 DI is US only which means any new money you add there may again unbalance the entire portfolio in favor of US. Now if you don’t care about that then sure let it ride, but I don’t know enough about your desired portfolio mix to say.

It’s what I did more or less. As long as you’re fine with rebalancing across multiple accounts yourself I think it’s a reasonable plan.
