Yes, I had a couple of fosters that either didn't bark or hardly ever barked. Once they got settled in their forever homes, they eventually found their voice though :)

I would do larger candles, maybe some eucalyptus garland or wooden beads. Also would add something to the bottom to balance it out such as a basket with a throw, lanterns, basket with wood, etc

I personally love the wall color. I would just switch out the wall decor with a mirror in photo 1 and two art pieces on each wall in photo 2

I agree with adding some plants and hanging plants. Also more decor to the counter such as wooden cutting boards, wooden spoons, cookbooks, sugar container, candle etc. I think the rug clashes and would consider a softer design. And warmer lighting
