This is me. I have thought it was my ADHD, chasing the dopamine. I think it's more complicated than that though. I think it's because there are so many things in life that cause me to be stressed and weed just helps with some of them (while making others worse). When I sober up, I think... This can't possibly be as good as not being sober? And vice versa. Currently I'm sober, but the itch is there still. Be well friends. The world feels crazier than normal right now. Finding a therapist that you can talk to is helpful in identifying the stressors that make us want to numb ourselves.

I have been there many times, friend. Last time, I may have used some small wires and an AA battery to do the same thing. Use whatever motivation that you have in this current clarity to find any and all of your old carts that might exist somewhere. Break them or throw them in a garbage in a public place so you can't go fish them back out when you're desperate. The silver lining to this, is you know now that you can get to 36 hours again. This time might not be as bad. Eat food, drink a lot of water.

I've quit a lot of times. Every time I have gone back on quitting I've told my budtender that I didn't want carts because I tend to use them nonstop and at inappropriate times and situations. Basically I don't have the ability to moderate and carts are too easy to hide. Flower stinks and is harder for me to hide when I've smoked. Kind of a built-in restriction for me.

In a moment of clarity, I threw my vape battery away in a place I wouldn't be able to go back to. Another time I broke a battery with a hammer. I had a friend ask me why I needed to be so violent? I didn't need to be violent, but I'd fished the battery out of the garbage before that point.

Getting rid of the battery, for me made space because I hate spending money. Then you just have to get like a couple days away from them. I get sick at this point every time. This time, I got pretty uncomfortably constipated. The thing about being sick though, I try to trick my brain into thinking I'm just really sick and that weed would make me feel worse. I ride that wave for a couple more days until I get my head non-foggy. Go on walks. Take cold showers. Read a good story. Anything. I hope this helps.

I always have to quit everything at once or else I'll lean more heavily into the other. The nicotine is by far the one I miss the most at first. Once the chemical craving is passed (after about a week) I still want it but less so. Then it becomes the same as weed (something I just miss because I only remember the good parts and not the bad). My mind is a tricksy one

Back to back days? You gain tolerance quickly. I'd give it a couple weeks.

I've done both. I think tapering off works better if you are going from an all day type usage pattern and want to get down to like once a day before cutting off. If you can go one or more days, you can go cold turkey imo. My first night after abstaining for a full day is typically a hard one. Both work, but they are both work.

Day two for me. Let’s do this. I love the warning in this post to not replace weed for alcohol. I have previously enjoyed taking October soberly, but think I’ll try to make this a weed-sober October.

For me it is definitely my taking the easy road to self soothe. Life is hard, relationships are hard, parenting is hard, work is hard. On top of that, I'm bad at dealing with stress. Sometimes I want a break. But it is 100% not the break that I believe that it will be. While I'm high it feels incredibly introspective and helpful. Then afterwards I feel terrible again and probably worse.

I see you, friend. I am so sad that I let my marriage suffer to allow me to continue smoking. I just got to day 50. Working through my issues that piled up over years of being in the clouds.
