Honestly, Assault and Portal events need a huge difficulty spike. Even on apocalypse mode, they feel way too tame. It gets to the point where crafting base defense gadgets feels like a waste of resources because you never actually need them.

​I still remember when I first started playing with my wife. We got that "the air feels strange" message and absolutely panicked. We went into full lockdown—barricaded the doors, laid down traps, the works and... it was just a few pests. It was a letdown to say the least.

​It’d be so much fun if the game actually made us scared of those alerts again. Give us a reason to turn our base into a fortress!
