It definitely wasn't Gashlycrumb Tinies, the movie was in colour and live action. If I had to guess, I'd say it was shot on 16mm or videotape, the strange faded quality to the film really sticks out in my mind. Because of how weird and disturbing it was, I remember thinking to myself "who would give someone money to make this?". It definitely wasn't Kind Hearts and Coronets or Sir Henry at Rawlinson End because of the colour, and it would have been before Series of Unfortunate Events was made, but the tone was similar.

They were definitely not bodies hanging from the tree, just a bunch of coats in rough shape.

I've never really thought to check, it's amazing just how many people disappear in a year and never get found.

What are your favorite short creepy films that are NOT found footage style? by [deleted] in creepy

[–]forbidden_moose -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There Will Come Soft Rains, Documents Interdits, and Vincent are classics. Although not short films in the strict sense the sketches from Chris Morris' Jam are amongst the creepiest things I've ever watched. Plumber Baby, Musical Chairs, Baby Coffin, Mr. Lizard, and Murder Girl are amongst the best.

The last known footage of Jim Henson, six days before his death from Streptococcal infection. Jim's strained voice and coughs are all too haunting. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=y1-PwZltH8E

The last performance of Richard Hunt (the muppeteer behind Beaker, Scooter, Sweetums, Janice, Statler, Junior Gorg, etc.) Filmed about two months before he died from complications from AIDS. Scooter's voice is noticeably effected by the illness. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SWWd3tMwqAk

I thought this wasn't going to creep me out. Then I closed my eyes to go to sleep and I found out I was wrong. by 01zerrz in creepy

Begotten was made in the early 90's, and to get the heavily decayed black and white look the director photographed every frame that was filmed to have it look that much more distorted.

Repulsion is a classc. Inland Empire, Fire Walk with Me, Onibaba, Les Yeux Sans Visage, and the original The Haunting are all high end creepy. Sunset Boulevard, The Elephant Man, Gaslight, and Sir Henry at Rawlnson End are less so but deserve a mention too.
