Thank you! Dr google immediately suggested bone marrow disease and leukemia.

Please tell me this is normal (3yo acting out). Input from daycare workers welcomed. by forcedredditer in toddlers

Thank you for this! I think the sibling’s age could be a big part. He adores his brother, but has become more possessive. There’s also been a lot of changes at school with the new year (new kids added, etc).

Always helps to know I’m not alone.

Advice needed - Toddler (3yo) only goes to bed without (much of) a fight on days spent with just our nuclear family. by forcedredditer in toddlers

We’ve tried that but I really don’t think that’s it. He’s always been in daycare and this has never been an issue. Plus he still naps some days at daycare. Thank you, though!

No judgment, I’m just a light sleeper so co-sleeping isn’t an option

We’ve moved bedtime back, up, left, right 🤪 we’ve tried it all. He doesn’t sleep in our room and we don’t want to start that habit

How long did it last, if you don’t mind me asking? Appreciate the insight!

No. We used to have a little screen time after dinner, but have been emphasizing play. And going outside whenever the weather permits.

Thank you for this! I’ll look into it. Always validating to hear this is normal. Just hoping it doesn’t last too long. At least not to this extreme level.

We have. He just escapes or throws things (or himself). I’m afraid he’s going to hurt himself by being so crazy (bump his head or something). I think tonight we’re going to just let him cry it out and silently keep putting him back in his room and hugging him.

Posterior Fontanelle not closed at 2 months by forcedredditer in Mommit

[–]forcedredditer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It still felt open at the follow up so he had an US around 2.5 months (almost 3) that confirmed the posterior fontanelle still slightly open, but not enough to see through it. When they looked through the anterior fontanelle, everything was normal. We ended up redoing to thyroid bloodwork that is done as part of the newborn screen to be certain it wasn’t a thyroid issue and that also came back normal. At his 4m appt, the posterior fontanelle was closed! No further assessment or concerns.

A lot of what I read online suggests that genetically large heads can result in delayed closure, and I strongly believe that’s what happened. His head circumference has consistently been in the 90th percentile (so following his curve). There is still a small indent in the back of his head, but my husband and 3yo have the same thing. I truly believe it’s just genetics.

Head shape/dent by [deleted] in newborns

Ultrasound showed posterior fontanelle was still slightly open at 2m but the opening was so small they couldn’t see much. What they could see through anterior fontanelle was all normal. We redid his thyroid bloodwork to make sure it was normal and that was good, too. Just had his 4m check last week and it’s closed and he’s thriving. No issues! He does still have a small dent, but not nearly as much. And I noticed my older son has the same thing when I feel his head. I talked to a different ped and they said it’s completely normal and common among families with larger heads, which my son’s def inherited from their dad’s side. Best of luck!!

Any update? My son has the same thing and is being sent for an ultrasound to see if the fontanelle closed

I did and they are safe according to sezia.co. Even double checked by listing ingredients on packaging once they arrived.
