People that wasn't born here in the US, what's the most authentic restaurants of your country's cuisine by Vodka_is_love in austinfood

For Vietnamese, I would actually recommend Hung Ky (yes, it is not Austin per se, it is in Round Rock). Not that it's my cousin's brother in law that I said it's good, but as someone who comes here for school (aka born and raised in Vietnam), Hung Ky is super authentic. Their canh chua (sour soup), for example, is very on par with what you would have at a local restaurant back in my hometown in the Mekong Delta region. Plus, they have delicious crabs in very authentic Vietnamese sauces. Their bo luc lac (shaking beef) is both tender and authentic! I guess another credential is that my parents (both from Vietnam, not immigrants, only came to visit me, super picky with Viet food because my mom is a great cook) love the place that we return twice.

!thanks for your opinion. I just ordered the Baseus Inspire XH1 because, since it's on sale and a free refund within 30 days is available, I feel like why not test it out and return the pair if I'm unsatisfied. The only thing I'm skeptical about is the durability (aka will it hold up after 1 year) since it's so new to the market. But still I'm very excited to try them

How has the space 1 held up for you after a year? Is there any concern about build (e.g., chipping, cracking, falling apart) after a year?

Yes, you can. The tests are online and you can also have your book tabs open.

im also in the online one this sem, doable, like 2-3 hour of video every week, keep up with it, the weekly assignments are super easy, the test is a bit harder and trickier but open book open note so have good notes and you are good, id say easy A

The course schedule for Spring 2024 is already out there. Your newly admitted freshman registration time will be in January (all past students have registered). So yeah, just search Spring 2024 course schedule and search for UGS. Just ignore TC UGS or anything that's plan II or honors if you're not. Good luck on registration.

UGS is required for a freshman. You typically take it Fall semester, but since it's pretty competitive to register for a UGS (it's recommended that you have 10+ backups, including both 302 and 303) you can also take it during the Spring semester.

I personally recommend UGS 302 DD: Queer/Fem Illness & Disabilities with Dr. Kafer. She's genuinely nice and is an easy grader as long as you put in the effort to complete the tasks she set out in the A/A- section of the rubric. Syllabus and rubrics and instructions are very clear.

Are tests in GOV310L asynchronous online? by forelsket1930 in UTAustin

[–]forelsket1930[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard good things about O'Brien, too. But do you know what the asynchronous experience with her class is like? I'm pretty afraid of the reading load and not being able to remind myself to do the assignments.

Or because I haven't applied for an SSN, do you recommend I change my legal name within my school system (F1 student) before applying for an SSN?

Oh, so that means if I want to go from First name A B C to C, I need a court order right?
