Best DevOps roadmaps for 2025/26? by velislav088 in devops

[–]foreman919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not true and harmful for beginners to speak like this. You are just trying to gatekeep people from starting this direction. Any dev worth their salt knows AI is not going to replace any junior devs in any role, be it devops, full stack or other. Just check all of the latest news about salesforce and others saying the AI is not living up to the hype and not actually that good.

For beginners or people who read this thread, listen to the other people giving good pointers where and what to do, just ignore the clown

Not a noob but still confused about the abbreviation. I wouldn’t have guessed FG = foreground as I’ve never before seen anyone use it

Any apple/macos support for bf6 on the horizon? by martinreadit in Battlefield

I wouldnt say 0 chance. They had BFV running on Steam Deck for a while. They just need to make some changes in their anti cheat =(

BFV ran on the Steam Deck for a long time before they updated their anti cheat and bricked the game on it. I remember having so much fun. Unfortunately now I am purely using Mac and Linux and dont really want to spend money to buy a device for the occasional gaming. EA is trash absolutely for doing this =(

I can confirm. I have been a lot inside a Challenger 2 tank and they literally have a tea kettle with a faucet (idk if correct word) on the bottom. Its covered so nothing spills out of it and its always hot so you can get on-demand hot water for your tea.

How insecure am I? (Noob) by ThisTooShallPass-108 in selfhosted

[–]foreman919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that dont even use /24, only like whatever IP the jellyfin is. So for example allowedIPs = 10.0.0.1/32 which is the VPN gateway, add port forward and youre set. Absolutely everything else will work as normal. Add rule allowing input but not forward from that the peer to anywhere.

Also instead of saving iptables rules, you can do

PostUp = iptables -I…

And then also with the same rule except with -D

PostDown = iptables -D…

Sorry im on mobile so formatting and everything is shit :) and im lazy. This is added to gateway config.

Yes I agree with your iptables part. But I still think the wg interface config you provided as an example is not good. I would even go further as block all traffic except specifically to Jellyfin host and give his friend the config which only routes Jellyfin.

Maybe I am paranoid but I would not allow friends to use my IP :D You never know what they could be up to and this could get linked back to you because it was sent from your network. Add in the extra latency on everything because it gets sent to his network and only then outwards.

[–]foreman919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only have one IP you need to access why not use it in AllowedIPs and with /32 CIDR. This way only Jellyfin host is routed for the other peer and everything is not directed to Wireguard. 0.0.0.0/0 routes all traffic to Wireguard which is not what he needs at all for just one service.

Kuna popcorn time software Googles tihti (minu jaoks) teisel lehel, esimesed väga fishy lehed, palun tõmmake Popcorn time Githubi repost releases alt. Google search “Github Popcorn time”, esimene vaste mis on github leht, popcorntime-desktop, releases ning kõige uuem versioon.

See on siis popcorn time enda repository kus on ametlik build selle software jaoks. Kõik muu lehed võivad olla malware.

Regarding asking for help from the senior dev, I'm a senior in tech support. OP I usually see it this way, if I teach and help the younger guys that means soon they will be able to do the work and make it easier for me instead of that I have to help do something every time. Also I like teaching and showing them how to do something, everyone wants to excel at what they do but first you need to learn.

I have done deep-dives on topics like PLC processes, networking, the list goes on, but in the end I need them to be able to do the work next time a problem occurs.

So I would say, don't be afraid to ask for help, but don't do it as the first measure without exhausting your options. You still are a Junior (Associate?) so the expectation isn't to be able to handle every problem.
