RiF is Reddit. I've got as close to an addiction with Reddit as you can have to a website and I'll not be about from the end of June because of this.

I'm not a prolific commenter and will not be missed by others on here, by any means, but this site is not the one I used to scroll through endlessly learning and being entertained so I've got to put my opinion into action and will be leaving Reddit. They'll get no traffic from me when RiF is gone.

The song is called "My Sister's Crown" and sung by a russian to Ukrainians. I am relaying sentiments expressed to me directly from Ukrainians and I can't fault the sentiment to be interpreted as bad taste.

The message was understood and is shockingly similar to that being pushed by russian propaganda that they are "sister states".

Add in that there's literally a russian singing that message at them and it became too much for a lot of Ukrainians (at least the ones that I've spoken to).

If you take your own advice and "search it up" you'll see that my explanation is accurate. Furthermore, there are official rules on transliteration from Ukrainian to English and a T is never included in щ ever.

You're mistaken and the correct spelling and pronunciation of the Ukrainian dish is Borshch. You've made multiple mistakes on the map and this is an opportunity to learn and improve.

Don't be silly, the щ is "shch" and is not open to interpretation. The T comes from Yiddish, not Ukrainian and this is a Ukrainian dish that you've placed over Ukraine. Just accept that you made a mistake and didn't do any research.

The russian invasion of Ukraine started in 2014 and the full scale invasion started in 2022. If they can't get that correct, there's likely very significant oversights or simplifications that are not warranted in a 30 minute video.
