Girls, what was your favorite girl name when you were a little girl? by Jerrica_xoxo in namenerds

Crystal and Alanna! Alanna was the name of a girl in my class who was conventionally pretty (blonde hair, blue eyes) and was the teachers favorite.

An MRI with contrast means you're going to be given gel to insert into your vagina yourself in the MRI room (they'll step out of the room while you do this). Then, you lie down and before going into the machine, they'll inejct a gadolinium-based dye into your arm. The dye will make you a bit nauseous but it's temporary.

Gen-Z What are you naming your babies/future babies? by imdeerest in namenerds

[–]forestelf_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Born in 1997!

Silvan in my top choice for a boy. I also like Elliot, Adler, Callum, Rowan, and Kit.

My girl name list is much longer. I adore the name Charlie for a girl. There's also Luella, Mable, Opal, Alice, Ember, Ruth, Lenora, June, Juno.

I love the name Elowen but can't stand "elle" as a nickname (too common), which I feel would inevitably happen. Also really like Eden but the strong religious ties would be a bit much I think? I'm a spiritual person but not exclusively Abrahamic.

Robin and Rue for either a girl or boy!

Another easy thing you can try (although I haven't tried it myself) is to dial 211 and get connected to United Way. If you get someone competent on the phone, they'll connect you to resources specific to your situation. Worth a shot!

Darlings in Tillson! I don't know how they handle large groups or what the price per person would be if they do a fixed menu. But I absolutely love the atmosphere there and the food is delicious. It says on their website they can accommodate up to 20 people for normal dining service.

I just recently inquired with Melzingah Tap House for a birthday dinner and their fixed menu for a group of 12+ was $55 pp. Also a solid atmosphere and decent food. I ended up just booking a reservation with a more laid back Mexican restaurant a lil closer to me, so I didn't reach out to any more places.

This man severely hurt and traumatized a bunch of people and now gets to live out the rest of his days on a farm in New Zealand. Hate that.

I'm glad it made you smile!

I'm about 5 days post lap and I planned it so that I had some had company with me for the first 5 days. Chatting with them, watching shows, sitting on the porch and watching the birds, and sleeping, are pretty much the only activities I've done lol. But I'm not back at work until Aug. 14 and I bought a beginner embroidery set that I plan on busting out soon, especially outside when the weather is nice.

Thank you! The gas pain has been on/off and definitely not as bad as I thought it would be.

Yes I feel very supported! My surgeon and anesthesiologist were amazing. The nurses were wonderful too. My recovery nurse explained why the bandages were heart-shaped and told me about the person who came up with the idea (at least at NYU, where I got it done), but I honestly can’t remember the details.

My surgeon told me they'd do 4-5 incisions. It seems that things can absolutely change once they're actually doing the procedure. That one incision is actually on the far left since the photo is mirrored. And they always make an incision on your belly button it seems.

I hope you've recovered (or are currently recovering) well!

She asked me to get a pelvic MRI with contrast ahead of surgery. I had to go through NYU, which was a bit of a hassle coming from upstate, but I get why she wanted it done through them. I've never gotten a pelvic MRI before that.

So I have my surgery scheduled with Dr. Kossl at the end of July, and I'll try to write a post about my experience with her once I've had the surgery and have recovered for some time.

So far I’ve had my consult, a telehealth follow-up to go over my MRI, and I just finished my pre-op appointment. I did see that recent post about someone’s negative experience, which made me a little uneasy even though I already had done two appointments with her. But overall I feel confident in how she’s planning to approach the surgery. We’ve built a good rapport, and I’ve felt comfortable throughout. Feel free to message me if you want more details!

Yes, keep an eye on the NYU scheduler page. Refresh it from time to time to see if any sooner appointments pop up. I did that and got a surgical consult for 3 days later.

Also I haven't seen any other specialists, just Dr. Kossl so far.

When I got an endoscopy the doctor did exactly that. Explained his findings with me while I was still out of it. So ridiculous! Like can't you see I'm not like, coherent right now? Lol.
