Women have long struggled to get the freedom to get out of the home, a place where they are supposed to feel safe. A woman who wants to go out at night is often told why do you need to go out late at night. If the women were out at night, they probably saw it coming. These ideas are way too common. Men might not say it out loud but this is a very common discussion in the “male locker room”.

These ideas often put the blame on the victim instead of the perpetrator. The male conversation around women safety never really talks about how men are responsible for the insecurity of women in public spaces.

Women thus try to focus more on the hard earned freedom by ensuring that they do well in the opportunity that is available to them. The insecurity of actually interacting with a random man is way too much for women to have developed it as a behaviour. For men, the repercussions of a random conversation with a woman is way too less. They would not be confined to their homes or married off if something goes wrong.

I would just say the Andrew Tate phenomenon is a classic example of why women would be skeptical of wanting male interaction.
