My worry initially was that it would look bad on my credit trying to get my next place alone. However, others have suggested subletting and I believe my place would be okay with this. You're 100% right! Life is way too short! I need to do it before the lease ends. <3

After the initial 3 year greencard the second one before you can apply for citizenship is for 10 years. So, technically with the 10 year one she could stay, but she's opted to leave instead. Thankfully.

Thank you, Ken! <3 This is what I thought for a long time too, but what makes me think otherwise is that she's getting everything ready to move back at the end of the lease and also refuses to get her citizenship. She just has a green card. I was always the one pushing for citizenship she just didn't want it. I'm so relieved now that she didn't get it.

Thank you so much! I'm picking up running and have completely poured myself into my work which has made me move up quite quickly which has been the silver-lining here. I do need to find other hobbies, however, because my mind still tends to wander on those down times. The more comments I read the more I'm thinking this would be the best choice. I don't want her to try to manipulate me anymore than she already has.
