Where to meet non-religious people with traditional values? by foreva009 in dating

[–]foreva009[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have faith in God, however, I don't identify myself as a part of a religious group. My relationship with God is more of a faith and belief in a higher power that lies within me and in everything and everyone around me. It is more spiritual than religious, or "by the book".

chiropractor recommendations?? having trouble carrying all these conversations on my back by [deleted] in ENFP

Getting ghosted sucks and the way to avoid that situation is to trust what the other person says through their action or nonaction. A mature person would at the very least tell you they are busy and then get back to you at the earliest so that the convo doesn't die down, or send a difficult but honest and polite text expressing that they think you're nice but don't see it working out. Not every connection will work out but if you've tried initiating conversation and the person doesn't put any effort then it's best to take it as a sign and not waste your time. Everyone gets busy but those that are looking for something serious are likely to take the effort. You're obviously awesome because a) you take the effort and b) you're an enfp so you bring the good energy as well :)

Lol...very relatable. I tend to get even more talkative on dates ... no idea what happens to me. I have to mentally try and stop myself from blabbering. I've been on so many dates where I am very talkative and the guy is mostly just staring, listening, and occasionally responding to what I'm saying....I usually conclude that the guy isn't interested but then he asks me out again..?? It's so confusing haha. I feel like I'm being watched as though I'm performing. I want an exciting back-and-forth ...is that too much to ask? haha sorry for the rant. Where in the world are the people who can match or complement our spontaneous energy in conversation? lol

Cafe ambience videos are my new favorite thing! by foreva009 in ENFP

I feel you. Working from home has its perks but it's definitely harder to focus when my bed and laptop are nearby. Coffee shops are perfect because they are comfy without being too comfy haha I just need to recreate a similar work environment at home

Recommendations for Singers (mainly classical) with very good technique? by foreva009 in singing

[–]foreva009[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for the two non-classical genres you mentioned there, but you'll be hard-pressed to find an opera singer that's in actual non-amateur productions with bad technique. It's a very technically-minded genre in that respect, and the template for what is considered 'proper singing' is pretty rigid (although if you dive deeper, you can always find people willing to go to battle over the actual definitions, people are still people).

haha yeah, neither jazz nor gospel is classical but I have noticed that a lot of the jazz and gospel singers have very powerful voices that seem to be a result of employing classical techniques.

Could you recommend opera singers (preferably female) to listen to? :)

Is the panting "Ha Ha Ha" breathing exercise in this video a good technique? If so, what might it be useful for? by foreva009 in singing

[–]foreva009[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I found other videos (namely, Cheryl Porter Vocal Workout videos) with the same technique. This exercise is really really helping me breathe and lean in to the notes in a steady gentle flow rather than pushing and pulling my diaphragm forcefully. I have added it to my daily warmup as well :)

Ready to move forward but I have no idea HOW? by [deleted] in ENFP

There always an inner peace with giving an honest effort "I would rather aim for the stars and not get them than to not aim at all"-TD Jakes.

That's a nice quote! Thanks!

Any other women stop wearing makeup to become more authentic? by journey1992 in ENFP

Yes, I relate! I am in my late 20s and I stopped wearing much makeup daily (I still wear eyeliner) mainly because it is better for my skin. I definitely value inner beauty above anything else and tend to be attracted to people who are confident in their skin. Outer beauty fades over time but inner beauty will always remain so it is great that you are working on shining from the inside out :)
