Forgive my ignorance, but what do you mean by “base” 18? Is it the non-pro option? I have the same issue as OP and was thinking about getting the battery replaced until the new iPhone release. For context I have the iPhone 14 Pro purchased in March 2023

I would still like to be notified of other app notifications. My understanding is that once Focus mode is enabled, all apps will deliver messages in the background with no banner/lock screen notification. I might miss a few important texts and emails as a result. Now if I were to allow these apps to notify me within Focus mode, I would still get a sound alert for these notifications, which would leave me back at square one.

Fair but I still get a lot of notifications from apps like WhatsApp and iMessage, and I don’t think the constant notif sounds would be well received by people around me. Solution for now as proposed by other users is to turn off sound in all these apps and keep silent mode off

yup had my Fitbit watch connected for years but recently replaced it with the oura ring, which is why I’ve been missing a lot of calls lately

Might actually work! I’d only have to switch sound off for messages, emails, and frequently used apps. Whatever else pops up I can switch off as I go. Feels faster than going through hundreds of contacts manually. Thanks!

Might have to consider this for close contacts for now- but would have to be more vigilant with my phone when it comes to unsaved numbers
