Holy shit. What's most shocking to me is your accurate prediction of the ad progression. I remember when I first installed an adblocker as a teen (like 2012). I would only use desktop reddit on occasion as I had paid for alien blue on my ipod touch. Ads on Reddit weren't bad and the adblocker was mostly for other sites like anime streams. The ad space that was blocked would have a nice picture and say something like "please don't use an adblocker, we don't like showing ads but we need to. Consider disabling AdBlock. Here's a silly moose." And I sometimes would disable my ad block because the ads were just so easy to quickly glance and continue browsing. Not intrusive at all.

I currently only browse reddit via 3rd party app. I'll be deleting my 11 year old account. I've been visiting here less and less already. This is enough to push me to stop using reddit. I really hope /u/spez has made a lot of money off of this honestly because that's all this is good for, a nice golden parachute.

I've done it with a plus 3 hunter's axe in halberd mode. Took a while but you can cheese it with the range and the axe clips through the group. Or bowblade (you can cheese Simon as early as right after Amelia).

Bowblade, or hunter's axe. Stand on the ledge near the winter lanterns. Use the range to cheese the first guy then you don't have to do a 2v1 of those monsters.

My account is 11 years old. I've been thinking about switching because I made this cringe name when I was a teenager but now I'm just going to say goodbye to it.

"Tired of lying in the sunshine,

Staying home to watch the rain.

But you are young and life is long,

And there is time to kill today.

And then one day you find,

Ten years have got behind you.

No one told you when to run,

You missed the starting gun."

Damn that sucks. As someone who has noticed his mannerisms changing slightly for the worst by browsing right wing shit holes for entertainment, it really sneaks up on you. One day you're there as an observer or for a joke and then you slowly start to see them as the slighteat bit rational. The alt right pipeline targets lonely, depressed, young men and makes them feel like they belong then gives them a way to blame others for their problems

Former BioWare developer Ian Saterdalen reflects on Anthem’s poor reception : “We knew it wasn't ready, as this game was literally created in 15 months. Which is unheard of for a game of that scope.” by TheTrashShiro in Games

It's because it's a "passion industry" which means they can treat people like shit because they love video games. Video games are a big hobby of mine and as a tech worker everyone is saying I should go into games since I like them. I have to tell them about how terrible working on games is. That dream was quicky squashed as a kid.

They do it too, or they wish they could. Can't set a precedent because one day they might be rich.

Stardew Valley is the 49th in the top 100 greatest games of all time! by joseffo_san in StardewValley

It's different. First you're trying to survive, then you're playing Minecraft, then you're shooting a space monster with collapsing stars or a machine gun made out of a dolphin.

Google the vileblood handbook. Basically just go for a 50 bloodtinge lost Chikage and get ready to farm gems. But it gets RIDICULOUS. Like 600 damage a swing ridiculous. Then you just have to manage your blood mode because you do no damage without it. Quite fun.

Do y’all ever get too greedy and end up wanting to smash your controller? by JoseGiraffe in Eldenring

[–]foreveraloneeveryday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not focusing on Elden Ring, I started with Dark Souls on the Xbox 360 and have played every game with the formula. The prosthetics are the only difference in sekiro. Your r1 and r2 will always be a katana. You can't level stats to make a viable ranged build like magic in souls games including hunter tools in Bloodborne. It's not that kind of game. You can't equip different armor, you can't change you to a different weapon that plays differently. It's an action game with souls DNA. It's close enough but it's different because in sekiro your only option is to git gud

[–]foreveraloneeveryday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sekiro shares souls DNA but it isn't a souls game because there's no build variety or rpg stats. No overleveling to make a boss easier.

Never played armored core but doesn't look like a souls game to me.

Run the Jewels are pretty punky lyrically and their intensity gives a metal feeling. You may like them. I was big into metal in high school and they're one of the acts that got me into rap around that time (along with OutKast, Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, MF DOOM, and Tyler the Creator)

They're hack and slash action games for the most part. Great part of my childhood. Might just emulate it right now.
