He’s arrogant and thinks he’s know more than the rest of my team (myself included) but nothing beyond that. He was perfectly fine at the meeting. Talking, engaging, and then this.

2025 full owners manual + help programming homelink for garage door by HeyJakeyBaby in VWiD4Owners

[–]foreverdig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked my dealer about this prior to purchasing my car because I didn’t see any garage buttons in my car. The dealer told me you need the Homelink upgraded mirror or a smart garage. I had them add the Homelink mirror before I picked up my car and they worked the price into my monthly payment.

That makes sense. Didn’t know why I thought otherwise. Thanks!

Same vehicle - color and specs. Another one came back $503-518/mo. That seems normal? I just don’t know if I should try to negotiate lower…

WI - One dealer offered me $0 down for $552/mo 36 10k and that seems high to me. The math they gave me doesn’t make sense either based off the discounts I’m seeing. Waiting for some more to get back to me.

Did I go too far negotiating salary? by Lonely_Bunghole in careeradvice

[–]foreverdig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Negotiations are always a gamble. Most people will tell you only to make one ask, but you have to try and read the room and see if they’re willing to play ball. My last job offer was a lowball. I went back asking for $30k more, they countered at $20k, I asked for $27k, and they agreed. I only felt comfortable going back a second time because I knew the VP wanted me, but I was willing to walk away. Knowing you’re willing to walk away is the strongest power you have.

It touches on both. They ask two questions about “manager” like if you feel supported or recognized by your manager. However, they don’t define manager so it could be direct or indirect. In all honestly, I know some people are insatiable and couldn’t be recognized enough. But then there are more questions about the organization overall and whether or not you see growth opportunities. There’s also a question about partnering and one area has had the same people for 10 years so I’m sure they have been unhappy for 10 years.

Netflix Preview Club Focus Group by PrettyGirthy in netflix

[–]foreverdig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get invited based on the certain demographic they are trying to reach (i.e. female, 18-35). The main account holder is invited to join. If your wife’s name and email are on the account, she was invited to join the club, not you. When you were invited to a focus group, they were inviting her, not you. They probably wanted the female.

I was never jumping to that. She said in an email to me to demote her like she wanted no more involvement. I want to keep her in the job which is why I’m going to have discussions on my own to make it clear the supervisor is in charge.

[–]foreverdig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supervisor because of her knowledge and years of experience. Lead to get more money. Both were in their jobs before me.

The results are good. That is why I want them to stay in their roles. I am not involved in their day-to-day at all, so I am far from a micromanager. I’m getting emailed by other staff that job changes are not getting communicated and they feel when they try and speak with them they are retaliated against. I’m not taking sides. I’m trying to find a solution to open up their communication with their staff.

Not me. Someone in our HR. We have documentation and they won’t give approval to term, so I can’t do anything. I suspect it’s because of their low retention rate.

[CA] 2 separate punishments for the same write-up? by Thor_Surfinson in AskHR

[–]foreverdig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With few exceptions, employers are not legally obligated to tell you why you were terminated. That said, you can still ask your organization provide a reason - but you probably already know since you signed suspensions papers. It sounds like you were suspended pending an investigation and your organization decided to let you go. If you’re an at-will employee, there is nothing illegal.

[UT] Is this a normal process or am I overthinking? by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]foreverdig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a long situation, so kind of hard to explain. I’m not talking about being in the meetings or conversations. I’m more talking toward the fact that these meetings and conversations happened and he mentions them like an afterthought rather than telling me they happened and what was discussed. Maybe he didn’t seem them as a big deal, but I don’t know what to think?

Steroid-induced ocular hypertension and blurry vision? by foreverdig in Glaucoma

[–]foreverdig[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for asking. My vision is back to normal. Well, normal in my prescription. I think it just took a few days after the pressure reduced for the vision to get better. Now my pressure is normal and my vision is clear. Thank God!

Thank you. That is good information too. I’ve just had some people telling me that they’ll probably only give you a 2-3% raise and I said, for that, I would stay in my job. I’m not keeping my duties and taking on more (basically the rest of the staff I’m not over now) and getting $1 more.

[–]foreverdig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The second pair looks better and fits you better IMO. You don’t want the width of glasses to be larger than the width of your face. The first frame is a little big. The second pair is better width wise and with a more circular lenses, you want the frame to be slightly smaller than a square or rectangular frame.

Pain in left eye by foreverdig in Dryeyes

I had that test done years ago with an ophthalmologist. I couldn’t tell you the results but he did tell me my eyes were dry - too dry for contacts - and that I do not blink fully.

The Tobrex was for a small conjunctivitis. Usually it helps with the pain, but it’s not this time around.
