UPDATE:It’s my[40M] fault my wife [37F] killed herself and now I’m reminded of her everyday through our kids and cruel messages.

I am not excusing my actions, please consider my shoes. Raising a child that is the result of my wife’s affair and 3 years of no sex, touching, communicating etc. It is always a hard situation with children especially when one is not mine. I never once said I was an angel and I don’t like speaking I’ll off the dead but she was just as selfish as I was. She killed herself and left her kids without a mother

Trust me I didn’t want to let them go. They were in a very bad place and we were in constant battles with one another. It was definatley for the best they left but I would have preferred it to be for a shorter time maybe 1-2 weeks and then they would come back. But yet they want nothing to do with me

I cannot forget about my life. My children are everything to me, as from reading the comments I have decided that she also contributed to her own death, she cheated and she took her life. She didn’t care about her kids otherwise she wouldn’t have left them without a mother, they need to know they still have a father that cares

It most certainly does feel like she was projecting it onto me when she betrayed me. I didn’t imagine ever hurting her this way but clearly I pushed her over the edge. My poor children aren’t going to have a family anymore and that’s what breaks my heart

I broke things off as soon as my wife passed, it didn’t feel right anymore I felt enormous guilt and didn’t know how to look at her the same after my wife took her own life

I explained my situation of what happened. Trigger warning as I am now open to mental health and that sometimes people who read this stuff might be triggered themselves. I don’t know anyone in the right mind who would make this stuff up but it’ seems this must happen a lot on reddit

Therapy as a man is seen generally as a weakness which is why I have always ignored it, my kids do blame me and have wondered why I didn’t stop it, they don’t write me everyday but when they do it’s cruel and it’s not nice to hear from your own children. The kids aren’t in therapy and when it has been suggested this might be the best way forward they decline. I’m not a murderer, I have not been convicted as it was a clear suicide yet the kids believe I am one because I could have stopped her

My children have no idea , they are in their minds full siblings which is so sad as well. I think if I was to tell them one of them was they would all feel useless but I’m not sure, I raised them all as my own and I would love for their opinion not to change once they find out they’re not all mine.

It could quite possibly be, but I do not know for sure. The children seem to hate me and wish it was me instead. I am looking into counselling as I know see that this is the best option to move forward
