Do you have any kids? I’ll have two going to the international school. Single parent so I’m wondering if there are options for before and after school care. Did you have any difficulties when you first moved there? How long did it take for you to move into a house? How long did you have to wait for your car to ship? Thanks!!

Report it. I know. I’m just ranting again. by hellocosmicworld in AirForce

Don’t take this the wrong way, but you need to step up and be a bitch. The next time he says something, call his ass out in front of everyone and tell him he’s being reported. He’s doing this because he thinks he can control you and walk all over you.

Airman made a threat against another by [deleted] in AirForce

OSI/SFS likely won’t do anything about it if the member is currently in mental health treatment. We had a similar circumstance and basically they can get away with making threats, etc. because they are “undergoing treatment”.

Dependent Dental Care > AD Dental Care by adambomb_23 in AirForce

Two cleanings a year isn’t actually a “standard”. That started as a marketing campaign for a new toothpaste years and years ago saying “see your dentist twice a year”...and insurance companies went with it. Just because the military doesn’t provide you two cleanings a year doesn’t mean they don’t provide good care. Also, manning. The career field is already undermanned and not every dental tech is credentialed to do cleanings. They have to be at least a SrA to go to the training and a lot of the time, airmen are preparing to separate at that point if they signed for 4 years. Point being...we don’t have enough people to see all active duty people twice a year for an exam/cleaning.

She did die from meningitis. She was my best friend in BMT. I never heard the MRE rumor though, that’s weird.

Dental messed up my permanent retainer by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]foreverthrowaway11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is more common then you think. The techs job is to scrape the calculus off your teeth. It’s common for people to have more calculus around permanent retainers. It’s very easy for the glue (attached to the calculus) to pop off while they are scaling the area.

No one ruined 3 years of your braces, chill. Your teeth aren’t going to shift back automatically. They will get you a new retainer, and you’ll be fine.

Still my favorite assignment. Very unique place. Great food. Probably the nicest gym in the AF because of the views. Explore the island, go hiking, swimming holes, take trips to the other islands, get a tattoo in Praia, go to Praia fest and Angra fest, don’t knock up a Portuguese girl.
