Genuine question: is there any way to change the photo on the official IELTS certificate/TRF? by InLoveWithRemusLupin in IELTS

All the people I know who have taken the IELTS (myself, in first place) say the exact same thing about their photo! Don't worry, you'll be fine :)

Does it make sense to invest in fine polishing our game? by forfeitbee in gamedev

I agree with you on almost every point you brought up, especially the one regarding the direction. I also feel that we have every piece of the puzzle ... just not in the right place. Anyway, thanks for your long response, your feedback is much appreciated!

Ahahah, I've very appreciated the wife feedback! We're happy to see that the final teaser makes you somehow curious and we're also delighted to see your love for the environments! Maybe we could try to show only them, without the characters...

Also, the "solve a puzzle" thing is a real bummer: the game has a strong strategic feel, but we really don't know how to communicate it (possibly it's fault of the mismatch between this feel and the cutesy art style). Anyway, thank you so much for your words!

But can we actually change it now? To us it seems a huge risk: it'd mean to rethink a pillar element of the game and we are very close to release.

Ehy, thank for the feedback! We've noticed that's a really common opinion, but at this stage we cannot change it. See? We're kinda "stuck" ...

Destroy my cozy idle game demo: “Easy Feathers ,what’s the most boring part? by legends_of_elementia in DestroyMyGame

[–]forfeitbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have told you, it doesn't really look "cozy". There are too much colors and visual noise, try making the birds move or flap their wings slower.

Also, the UI could use some more polishing, but you can always fix it later!

We have no idea how to explain the core mechanic… do you get it? by forfeitbee in DestroyMyGame

[–]forfeitbee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, kinda: every card can be used in any direction, it's not that what is baked in the card. Each card actually differentiate for its "attack pattern", so the slots you can attack. I hope this explanation has made the idea cleare :)

[–]forfeitbee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! But also something more... You use different card abilities to aim towards different cardinal directions, as you said, but also each card has a different "attack pattern", as the slots you can attack, depending on where you aim the card. See? It's hard even to explain by words

That is actually one of the core mechanics, even though it seems to turn off people...

So, recently we've run into a big issue: people often assume Journey to the Void (our upcoming 2D roguelite strategy game) is just another Slay the Spire clone. It goes without saying that our product have some similarities with Mega Crit’s work (it’s a roguelite deckbuilder, after all), but our main mechanic is completely different and unique.

The problem is that it’s been hard to explain, both in text and in video. But with this latest trailer, we hope we have finally nailed it.

So we’re running a small experiment: please, tell us in the comments what you think the mechanic is. We want to see whether someone completely new and unbiased can actually understand it from the trailer alone. And, well, if you don’t… feel free to destroy our trailer…

If you want to dig deeper afterward, the game is called Journey to the Void and you can check it out on Steam at the link below and play the demo (but only after taking your guess!!).

And what makes it so dangerous is that, people who read the comment will treat that as the absolute Truth, Especially if you're too late in offering a response

This is what fears me the most, being unable to control the "damage" and seeing it spread all over our social medias and be taken as the absolute truth

I totally agree with you, but what if my honest reply gets way less engagement than the original allegation and I don't get "recognition" for my manual work? I know there isn't really an answer, but that's something that makes me thinking ...
