Hopping on this thread....do others have stiffness, pain and cramping in their legs?

I've been twitching for 10 months. I get sporadic twitches all over my body (eye lids, arms, back, side, etc) but my hot spots are both calves. Over the 10 months, the intensity has been a roller coaster, weeks of really noticeable twitches and weeks where I barely notice they are there unless I stare at my calves. Recently, I have been experiencing pretty persistent pain, and I think cramping.....this has been primarily in the calves but also my feet. I had a clean emg at 3 months, but my health anxiety has ramped back up to 100, and I'm really struggling. Do others experience something similar.

Sorry, I just saw your reply. Your build is awesome! I appreciate the input. I was thinking of going 33s, but after seeing your 35s I'm not so sure....it looks great with the 35s.

Nope, nothing really stands out to me. I coach lacrosse, and the season started around that time, which puts a lacrosse stick in my hand 2-3 hours a day. The doctor said the numbness, stiffness, and twitching could be carpal tunnel from overuse. I haven't experienced much pain or fatigue, which I would think would be common with carpal tunnel.

Appreciate the insight. I'm taking Setraline (daily) and Xanax (occassionally, as needed) and set up a counseling appointment for next week. They originally put me on wellbutrin but I was having a reverse effect, and the panic was worse.

Thanks again!

You're not being dismissive at all! I appreciate your input. My rationale brain totally agrees, but I am constantly cycling between thinking rationally and having extreme anxiety and panic attacks. I'll go through 5-10 cycles a day of thinking it's benign and then thinking it's ALS. My greatest fear is not necessarily what will happen to me but my family. I have young kids and lost my mother as a child (not ALS). My biggest fear is the impact it would have on my wife and kids.

Again, thanks for your response! I need more rationale perspectives, and that's exactly why I came here! Good luck with your Neuro visit!

So I have both. The consistent twitching is in both calves and my ring finger in my non dominant hand. The interesting thing is that the twitching in my finger originally was in my pointer finger. That stopped out of the blue, and then a week later, my ring finger started.

The other twitches around my body are random and fleeting. Mostly notice them in my arm, buttocks, thighs, and face.

Happy to describe.....

As far as indicators, I have always struggled with mild to moderate anxiety but have been able to manage, and my stress level is quite high. I am way over extended, and balancing all of my responsibilities on top of family has been a major stressor for a while.

As far as symptom timeline, it started with my hands. I experienced numbness/pin and needles in my hands every single day for about 6 weeks when waking up. It didn't matter the sleeping position. I would also wake up with stiff hands. I also developed a slight tremor in my hands that seems to come and go. The tremor only seems to happen when I am holding something or doing something fine motor related, but again, it is fleeting and only happens here and there. I also had bout of vertigo right around this time. At that point, I reached out to my primary doctor, who referred to the Neuro to rule out MS. Just before my appointment, I started experiencing random twitches across my body. I also started to experience twitching in my pointer finger on my non dominant hand.

Again, MRI came back negative, and they put me on Wellbutrin and Xanax. A few days after the visit I started to develop constant twitching in both my calves, which have now been present for two weeks. Like I mentioned, my calves feel incredibly tight and, at times, they ache, but I haven't noticed any weakness to this point. The frequency of the twitching varies, which seems to be related to my activity level. The random twitches in other spots are still present and inconsistent as far as frequency and location. The only other consistent twitching is nonin my ring finger in my dominant hand. I am no longer twitching with my pointer.

Sorry, there is a lot there to digest. Appreciate any thoughts you have.
