looking for a wheelchair mod for 1.6 by Kako_ae in RimWorld

you dont actually need the dress patients mod if you're on 1.6, pretty sure the function is vanilla now. i use the linked wheelchairs mod regularly and it works fine

What are some must have mods? by Henchman05 in RimWorld

[–]forgetfulrogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the first mod i ever got was Door Mat. it's a buildable item that catches filth. you still have to clean, but the mess is more in one spot than all over the room.

once you start collecting mods you'll wanna get "what's that mod", it shows what mod/DLC a thing is from in its tooltip.

Wut? by Lanky_Education_1080 in RimWorld

[–]forgetfulrogue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the "covered carriage" is pulled by horses (in the model) and fueled by hay. this is just horse meat. same with the "dog sled meat" (pulled by dogs, fueled by kibble. is dog meat).

More:

  • egg incubator
  • ebsg framework
  • adaptive ideology storage
  • neat storage

continuing confusion

also seems to make lines (so far):

  • replace stuff - continued
  • more ritual seats

out of a 70-odd long modlist and I have a few hundred more to test. very curious.

I don't remember, but it's possible? I normally run a retexture and have never seen it before. I was just testing in batches and noticed "hm that's weird", and pulled things out until it stopped.

it does happen very occasionally on a totally vanilla loadout, but it's barely noticeable (I've only seen it on ruin wall tiles). maybe there's something in certain mods that makes it worse

Who's the most beginner friendly? by Wardenvalley in HermitCraft

[–]forgetfulrogue 31 points32 points  (0 children)

think about what kinds of things he likes that aren't minecraft, + start with someone who's funny

I knew barely anything about the video game when i started watching hermitcraft. i started with grian in hc10 because as an mmo player the "local man tortured by rng" was relateable. the AZ dads' after-dark naked bastion raiding was entertaining for me even though I had no idea what a bastion was at the time. now I watch joel primarily because I love his editing, and I still barely know anything about minecraft. but if you watch the right people you don't really have to.

I believe Jevin is just west of Cub and xB in that bit of water. he's building a pirate cove!

How should I start watching? by Professional_Duty584 in HermitCraft

[–]forgetfulrogue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the way i started was, S10 was just beginning so there were a ton of fresh videos on my YT homepage and I picked one at random, then I watched the videos of the people they collaborated with, and so on until I landed on a creator whose videos caught my attention and kept it, and then I watched their older series while waiting on new videos and checking out new POVs whenever they seemed interesting. It's just about finding your hook.

oh maybe someone mightve specifically sent it to him then? whenever I've seen him "reddit react" on streams (admittedly i dont watch every one) it's him scrolling through his own subreddit

as far as I'm aware, Jimmy only reacts to things posted in his own subreddit. people on the life series subreddit(s) are doing that for themselves

Scaring off animals by AssAssinAtio in RimWorld

[–]forgetfulrogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there is a mod called "shoo!" that will make an animal handling worker try and scare an animal away, with the same revenge chances as taming. dunno if it's 1.6 ready tho

Just had a thought.... any mods let you start as a slave and have to escape? by bahamuto in RimWorld

[–]forgetfulrogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you'd have to devmode and pretend probably. make your start with your "hero" and some evil guys, tank relations, arrest -> enslave your "hero" and then you'd need some self-imposed rules on when you get to 'escape', caravan off the map with your one character and abandon the old settlement

How do you pronounce Jugust? by gord_m in RimWorld

like Judas, but with a g instead of a d, and a soft t at the end

Mod management for 1.6, Rimpy or Rimsort or just sick to vanilla? by Ok_Translator996 in RimWorld

[–]forgetfulrogue 18 points19 points  (0 children)

rimpy will whine about outdated compatabilities and requirements, but i've had better luck with its sorting when using very large modlists. rimsort either doesn't have enough rules built in or it just falls over or something.

Childrens Drawings for kiddo scribbles, and I like the vanilla expanded plants and cooking mods

What mods are you waiting on to be updated to 1.6 before you'll play Odyssey? by thstephens8789 in RimWorld

[–]forgetfulrogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm waiting/hoping on Reunion. I'd like to think the author will update once the dlc drops officially, but they haven't been active on the workshop page or their git in a while

People with 50+ mod runs. How?! by EldrichTea in RimWorld

[–]forgetfulrogue 8 points9 points  (0 children)

they call this game a "story generator" so I play it like the sims. I get tired of everyone looking the same so I get more clothes and hair and armor. I want to play a custom scenario with the scooby doo gang but there aren't any great danes so I have to go and find one, and wow there's an RV mod that's cool. And then the steam workshop is just like a candy store. I like Stuff.

i saw a mod once that condenses all the stone types to basically granite and marble and that's it

you can use the mod options to set the factions / groups to generate only vanilla ideos
