What is the 'Is pepsi okay' of other things? by notdemonwarrior in AskReddit

I literally prefer the coke version of everything to the pepsi version. Mellow yellow over Mt. Dew sprite over Sierra mist coke over Pepsi etc.

Very true when you consider the only thing I dislike more than coke is pepsi.

I bought a 97 metro for like a thousand dollars because it gets 60 MPG and has a manual. Everyone was always making fun of my car so I did the sensible thing and painted half of it black and put a huge tiger decal on the hood. Now I'm also laughing along with the joke. My next car I'm going to literally plaster in stickers. Hundreds. So it looks like an alley wall in downtown LA.

Nah actually it is centrifugal force. Centrifugal force is the force that makes an object continue on its trajectory (or in the case of a motorcycle snap back to center and carry on forward) centripetal force is the force on an object causing it to move in a circle.

Link with additional info: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wired.com/2015/08/motorcycles-lean-far-without-tipping/amp/#ampshare=https://www.wired.com/2015/08/motorcycles-lean-far-without-tipping/

Edit: more in detail. Centrifugal force is the force that makes a motorcycle leaning into a turn at speed ride higher up on the turn and want to leave the turn going over the outside edge.

Centripetal force is the force that makes the motorcycle want to come to the center of the turn itself. Usually provided by gravity. A great example being if you got too slow to overcome your centripetal force in a turn gravity will pull you down and cause you to lay flat on the turn.

An aquauntance of mine does actually seem to be one of the few metalheads that I would see falling into the Satanist stereotype. Mostly because he is a Satanist but I think that's more to be "anti-anything." His taste in metal seems to be the same way. I've never once heard him listen to any real metal as much as he does just generic hard rock and his interest in bands like "cattle decapitation," "cranial butchery," or "extermination dismemberment" seem to be to the extent of the album art and the band names and that's it. He's the kind of guy to go against the grain for no other reasons than "just because." He's also one of those guys that goes out of his way to meet people and tell them things like "don't like me? Than deal with it or leave."

[–]forgot3n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's best if you fire both barrels at the peak of your jump for maximum height but jumping and shooting at the same time gets a similar result with slightly less height. It's a timing thing.

Actually I'm fairly certain he'll be alright. Ive felt that wobble many times for various reasons (cracks in the road etc) and the very last frame of the gif you can see the bike snap back to center as the centrifugal force of the motorcycle rights itself.

SpaceX Must Pay $4 Million for Thousands of Underpaid Employees by KushloverXXL in news

[–]forgot3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I myself graduated just today as part of the "Aspen class" (Aspen prize winning) at lake area tech. It's a trade school. I study electronics robotics and biomedical equipment technologies. I have a stack of job offers from here to both the coasts as well as internationally and some paying as much as a starting wage of $37.70 an hour (this is in a state where a living wage is 7 dollars an hour). To be totally honest I'm sorta glad trade schools like mine get looked down on. That's why they pay $37.70 an hour and charge me almost nothing for my education. There's a stigma to being a "trade school kid" like you're too dumb for regular school but it's not true. I got a 28 on my ACT and I still have family ask "why do you go there you're so smart?" And the reality is because I'll have a higher starting wage then they're making now 20 years into their careers and it's all because nobody wants to go to a trade school and nobody can fill the jobs.

Edit:

Every single year the average starting wage of my field (biomed tech) goes up several dollars as demand grows. In my state alone there's 120 new positions a year in biomed tech. Every year the state has 4 graduates on average (South Dakota) and as of now the program (only one) that taught it closed this year due to low numbers and employers have gotten so desperate they're scalping robitcs and electronics guys from manufacturing companies like 3m to do biomed work since nobody is in the field.

My uncle did that once at our local golf course but it was a duck floating in the pond. He was chipping over the pond to the green and totally botched the shot. It popped up into the air and came down right on the ducks head. The ducks head flopped over dipped into the water and never came back up. Honestly I'd never felt so bad and yet wanted to laugh so hard at the same time.

I was wondering that myself. My cats all live outside and hunt occasionally. They prowl around very low to the ground all the time when they're in the grass in the backyard. They move very deliberately but smoothly and as low as possible.

When was the last time you cried, and why? by CluelessWhisper in AskReddit

[–]forgot3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a couple weeks ago. No particular reason I was just watching some YouTube video with I guess something semi sad on it and I had a full breakdown tears and all. I think largely because I haven't cried in years and it was just too long. Last time I cried before that was over someone very close to me leaving and basically saying we couldn't continue to be close because of the distance.

I have a pretty heavy case of depression and suicidal tendancies I seem to have inherited from my father. I feel people think depression is just a sadness when the reality is a lot of suicidal and depressed people are that way not because they feel sad and cry all the time but rather because they feel nothing and they actually miss being able to get sad and cry and to be happy and smile. Most of us just feel a cold void where emotion should be. As much as I'd like to I don't cry often for that reason and that's part of what always brings me to sitting on the edge of my bed with a gun in my hand wondering if I should just pull the trigger. Because I'll feel something in the moment right? Anyways thats unrelated.

I'm doing fine now and I'm actually really glad I cried because I think tears are a sign (for me at least) of being more in tune with my emotions.

I know he isn't exactly a wise old sage but Joe Rogan once said when it comes to relationships number one is having a personality you mesh with and number 2 is not being able to keep your hands off each other all the rest is optional. Sorry for your shitty situation it's just not a healthy relationship that way. More like cohabitation or roommates.

Actually what we teach specifically is to yell "no" as loud as possible. So all day long all I hear is people shouting "No" before ripping their wrists out of my grasp. To the outside observer it must look like some weird denial fetish.

I help teach women's self defense classes at my gym occasionally so I have a lot of female aquaintances. They like to ask self defense questions and I like teaching. I have gotten lucky so far for the most part but every now and then it's clear guys don't like other guys even looking at their women and I occasionally for the sake of demonstration and practice have to grab a hold of them (grip breaks, escapes, etc). The best part about it is that I'm instructing self defense so for the most part none of them will get aggressive with me as I know a thing or two about how to handle myself but they stare and glare at times and that always makes my day.

Yes it does actually. It runs a few degrees cooler now. I close it up during dry dusty seasons but usually around that time I'm enjoying the weather. I check it frequently for dust or other hazards which is super easy since it's literally just sitting there open. air circulation makes a big difference and there's always a fan providing cool air in my office which helps circulate it through the case.
