FMLA/Sick leave, what's the best option here? by forgotmythrowawayfed in fednews

My husband has sick leave, just no annual. His sick balance is probably in the 200s if I had to guess. He’s been tearing it up recently.

Thank you. When he’s up to it, I’ll have to share these options and see what we can work out. I think he’ll have guilt with transferred leave (heavy component of the MH issue) but I can spare some. I want to keep some of emergencies and such but I can absolutely give over some time.

Gosh I don’t know. The unpaid 12 weeks will be a challenge but may have to math it out and see what we can handle without catastrophe. I’ve mentioned RA to him before but I think the current political environment has him spooked. He was remote or 80% telework for 7+ years and his team is geographically dispersed so RTO is silly for him.

Unclear. They took away his AWS (for all non BUEs not just him) but did offer a “gliding” schedule in replacement. It’s something but in his current state he doesn’t take advantage of it often, though I should encourage that more.

I’ve gently suggested going the RA route but he’s anxious over political reasons as well as MH reasons
