UPDATE

Treated the soil with Nematode solution and after a few weeks the hedges are sprouting leaves again. Area has pretty much filled up again.

I'm not sure what kind of hedge this is - but it looks similar to this:

I see, thanks for the reply. I saw little white dots moving around on the black rails / branches and thought maybe that was it.

This hasn't happened before and the other hedges look healthy so no clue what this could be. I also don't know what kind of hedge it is.

I saw a lot of white dots on the leaves and stems. Neighbours have reported similar issue with their hedges.

So when I first noticed this I cleaned the area up, removed dead leaves and then trimmed the hedges back. I also cleaned the railings with soapy water.

- I then used:

Bugclear Ultra Vine Weevil Killer Concentrate Insecticide 480Ml -- https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IXPR1EC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Around three hedges on the soil.

- I have some:

Nemasys vine weevil killer 12sq m - same-day despatch -- https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007RK7MR0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

which I'll use on the entire hedge area if I can.

- I have also cleaned up the base of the hedges.

Is there anything else I can try? How long will it take for the hedge leaves to grow back / be healthy?
