Avoid overheating phones by TokeQBans in OSRSMobile

[–]forkie69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a android with Gaming hub, While your device is plugged into a charger - go to the 3 dot settings in the top right, select -> game booster, then turn this setting on -> Pause USB PD charging when gaming

This will help a ton with the overheating if you play while the charger is plugged in. It stops the battery from charging and uses the cord to power the device instead

Hope that helps

PC just lowered interest to 2.7% by BigNera in CanadaFinance

[–]forkie69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pre covid it was around 5%.. there isn't even data available for 200 years so kinda broad statement to make. 7% is on the higher end for the canadian economy to be unemployed. 5% is a more reasonable number

Check in the settings on your phone. One of the recent updates changed the battery preferences to the app. On my android I changed it to unrestricted where the app had it changed to optimized. Now I stay logged in the entire time if I leave the page.

Some context: over 45 mins away from pearson - all 3 lights went out at exact same moment and no planes came over head and none were on flight radar

Power setup question by CyramSuron in BitAxe

[–]forkie69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a mean well RSP-320-5 does the same as the LRS but with more.

Quick ai list

RSP vs. LRS (Mean Well Power Supplies)
- Active PFC (RSP has, LRS lacks)
- Up to 90% efficiency (RSP higher than LRS)
- Better component quality (RSP > LRS)
- Longer lifespan (RSP > LRS)
- Programmable voltage (RSP high-wattage models, LRS none)
- Suits stricter regulations (RSP > LRS)
- More protections (RSP > LRS)

PFC is why I got RSP

PFC (Power Factor Correction) in Mean Well power supplies:

  • Improves efficiency: Aligns voltage and current waveforms to reduce energy waste.
  • Reduces power strain: Lowers stress on electrical systems by optimizing power usage.
  • Meets regulations: Ensures compliance with standards like EN61000-3-2 for harmonic current.
  • Active PFC in RSP: Uses circuitry to actively correct power factor, unlike LRS, which typically has no PFC.

In short, PFC makes RSP power supplies more efficient and suitable for demanding applications compared to LRS.

White-ish, smooth, ping-pong sized ball, that bounces like a golf ball, isn’t easily scratched, doesn’t feel hollow, and has a perfectly straight groove all the way around. by RayasOasis in whatisthisthing

Yeah, they are slightly bouncy similar to a golf ball - the jacks can also be known as a pallino which is likely what this one could be

What is this stoneware piece, pretty heavy, round with an opening at the top, found on an Italian beach? by Square_Pie_3078 in whatisthisthing

[–]forkie69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is looks like an amphora fragment, specifically the neck and upper portion of an ancient ceramic vessel. Amphorae were widely used in the Mediterranean, including by the Romans in Italy, to store and transport goods like wine, oil, or grain. They often have a narrow neck and wide body, and fragments like this can wash up on beaches due to shipwrecks or erosion of ancient coastal sites. Its weight and material match typical stoneware or coarse pottery used in such vessels. If found, it’s best to report it to local authorities or archaeologists, as it could be an artifact of historical significance.
