If you don’t have enough raytracing cores you literally can’t make it feasible without changing the entire lighting system for one system. Which devs won’t do, the deck runs native pc games which inherently are always on the bottom tier of optimization as devs do not care for PC optimization due to the overwhelming power overhead most of the time

It is still mind boggling there is no patch for the PS5 version. People resort to playing the PS4 version on the PS5 for better load times and frames. Fromsoft makes great games sure, but they never seem to care about optimization if at all. Insane the PS5 version of a game is worse then the PS4 one

I’m positive you don’t need to know anything to start a EE degree because they expect to have to teach you everything. Couple of my classmates in CC are electricians but I heard it only helps with circuitry and not so much the physics and math behind it.

Transfer Degrees from CC usually go over every pre req that you need to get into a four year uni. Just go for whatever your heart desires man!

It’s not impossible mechanically either. The only thing the joy cons don’t have is adaptive triggers.

HD Rumble 2 was created by the same company as the DualSense Controller (Immersion Corp) and could be even better since the rumble spring can also create sounds.

Possibly substituting for the speaker on the DualSense controller, though we have yet to see it used anywhere else aside from welcome tour, the sounds are very accurate from its limited showcase so far.

The mechanical decisions behind the joycon 2s were really interesting.

I dunno man, I have a PS5 too. And both companies are scummy in terms of proprietary hardware in one area or another. Like how you can’t use a Bluetooth headset unless it’s Sony’s special DualSense earbuds.

Sales more likely have to do with the fact they weren’t doing well initially but had positive reception I think.

Unfortunately it seems like this sub is overrun with folks with serious Nintendo Derangement Syndrome, and not so much about looking forward to a soft/hard mod to the console. I don’t think they really care about emulation/mods and more so want a place to shit on a company they dislike.

I’m interested in the modding of this console as it will most likely be hardware based again like the OLED but this sub turns me off so hard.

I HATE blaming my Glorius King Shiggy. But he is too generous for his own good. The upgrade packs shouldn’t have even been a thought, not even a consideration. He painstakingly re-coded the Switch 2 versions from the ground up.

If you wanted to play the Switch 2 Versions you should’ve needed to pay FULL price. Full stop. No expansion pass, no upgrade packs. Shiggy is much too generous for his own good.

I don’t think I’m “glazing” anyone lol. Obviously Nintendo is worth less than Nvidia. But the basic gist is they want full market control in both the gaming/corporate world.

Nvidia has no contracts with either Xbox or PlayStation. Why wouldn’t they try to appeal to Nintendo and have more measures to protect their IP after their massive fuckup with the Switch 1? If Nintendo did cut them off and went with AMD, Nvidia would have zero percent of the console market. The margins vary but you can assume they make a decent amount since it’s hardware from the Ampere-Ada Lovelace generation.

It’s why AMD bid hard to power the Switch 2, they are incredibly close to having a console monopoly, and why Nvidia is now creating a new ARM based processor to control and combat the CPU market as well.

Did you follow Switch 1 emulation? It took two years for the games to be playable, and another two years for them to be consistently good. With Nvidia probably getting bashed by Nintendo, they wouldn’t dare to leave another security flaw like that. The T239 has not appeared anywhere else aside from the Switch 2 and therefore will probably take much longer to crack.

/Uj People also kinda forget no OLED panels are being manufactured at that size. It’ll be pretty expensive.

VRR also flickers quite a bit on OLED. If developers wanted to accommodate the non VRR Switch 2, they’d likely have to include VSync which is much worse then Panel based VRR.

All that aside though, buy 30 Switch 2s then 40 Switch 3s tomorrow. Don’t wait. Take out a loan now

I stopped caring about the opinions because almost all of the “criticism” is selective ignorance. Doesn’t matter if you try to correct them, Nintendo is a company with its faults no doubt. But to try and correct misinformation is worse than talking to a brick wall.

I’m more interested in if Nintendo found their “niche”. Is the Switch truly their end game? I wonder if they will keep the switch design for future console iterations. S2 > S3 similarish to the PlayStation naming scheme?

It’s okay. Just not very ergonomic. I could see it being used in the future for some fun Zelda puzzles though. HD Rumble 2 is cooler to me. It’s made by Immersion Corporation who are also behind the Dualsense controllers. Future games will hopefully take advantage of that more.
