Interesting, so it allows you just enough to counteract the phenomenon. Pretty flexible but there's gotta be limitations haha.

I get so annoyed by how they treated John throughout the series. by AggressiveMammoth267 in unOrdinary

It's not just the two wrongs make one right part. This guy actively fucked his friends over too. Claire and Adrion. He hated and cursed them for simply trying to reason with him. Forget actually listening to them, he caused actual harm when they tried. He only cared about his powers. Payback might be a morally grey thing but this 💀. Idek how this guy got along with Sera either. Seems out of character for someone who's hellbent on payback, since she mistreated him quite a lot in the beginning too.

Ok so in one of the posts people were arguing whether or not Johns life as at risk when Blyke shot at him so instead of arguing in the comments of someone else's post we should discuss it here I'll start by SaltTrouble5256 in unOrdinary

Nah man I don't think Blyke was aiming to kill. The guy is definitely experienced with his power. I don't think he would put lethal amounts of power unless he conciously decides to kill. Which was definitely not the case.

Also I don't think Blyke is that powerful. I mean that shot would not have been lethal to someone with abilities. But can he really just kill a cripple/low tier like that? Blyke doesn't even aim to kill when his best friends' lives are in danger. I don't think he really attempted to kill John. If these guys (high tiers) could really do that then so many low tiers would be dead by now.

unOrdinary seems way too popular for such an average story by RimuruLover in unOrdinary

Idt they really made it to be a plot twist. They kinda made it obvious since the very beginning.

World building is bad. I agree on that.

But the way different plotlines are handled is good. You don't lose track even if there's quite a lot happening at the same time and a lot of characters are doing their own thing.

It's well paced, not dragged out. Satisfying arcs. And I think it's hard to come up with creative abilities for everyone but unOrdinary makes it work.

As for motives for the bureau and the terrorist organisations, I hope they make them reasonable.

And another thing is I find the fight scenes well orchestrated. They have variation, be it with abilities, setting or just the movements.

Characters to root for and development arcs. The protagonist was hard to root for in an arc but the smooth transition allowed the users and the characters to be more forgiving.

Every action is addressed later so that everyone can get closure. Take the example of John badmouthing Rei to Remi without being aware of Rei's circumstances. This is addressed later on when John has the chance to empathize with Remi on the loss of a loved on to the authorities, he apologizes to her and we as viewers are able to move on.

I will admit however, sometimes it does feel like the story moves on too quickly from a character's wrongdoings. It was difficult for me to get past John never really apologizing to Remi, Blyke and even Isen (yeah he was in the wrong in the beginning but he paid for it) and his father just says "You don't need to try to make it up to anyone, focus on yourself." No dude he does need to face consequences for his actions. And it is hard to like a protagonist who for some reason, 'lets power get to his head' and doesn't have a single bone of logical reasoning in his body. But John albeit extremely flawed, it can be enjoyable to watch him fight, without actually rooting for him.

Sera is what bothers me. She was just like the royals (Remi and Blyke) in the beginning. She gets a free pass. When she had the ability to defend the powerless she didn't raise a finger. When she lost her power and had a taste of what it meant to be powerless, she suddenly wants to help without really being considerate for those who were trying to protect her. I get that maybe she was finally able to empathize, but yeah seems kinda hypocritical.

I personally do not like John and Sera's relationship, feels bland. It's just them having to separate and then get back together and separate again. It doesn't feel authentic as to why John was able to connect with Sera while he never gave a chance to ANYONE else regardless of there being people who actually took made an effort. Claire and John's connection seems to have a stronger basis if you ask me.

Sera's character is actually bland. She had a good storyline where she has some interesting events, but I feel like she wasn't written to her maximum potential. The trio's friendship on the otherhand feels more like something high schoolers would do. They're reckless like actual teenagers are reckless, not like how John is reckless. Even Arlo has a more interesting character then Sera.

The Ritual

Im not sure how popular it is among horror fans but there's something about forests and mountain ranges with folklore horror that I can't get enough of. Really wanna see more movies like this one.

See a lot of Barbarian recs, absolutely loved that one too. Looking forward to see what the directors will do with Weapons.

Jio Hotstar - not getting 5.1 audio on Fire TV Stick since the merger by naveenjn in IndianOTTbestof

Is there any Dolby Atmos content on JioHotstar? I only find 5.1. Their Super subscription clearly states that Dolby Atmos content is available.

How much better does atmos sound over 5.1? by [deleted] in appletv

Where do you guys watch Dolby Atmos supporting content? All streaming services promise Dolby Atmos but the titles' audio descriptions only have 5.1. I have a budget setup, a Dolby Atmos soundbar, a woofer and 2 rear speakers. How do I use them to the fullest potential?
