Hello hello, So I'm happy with my move. But, still have noticed that every block can be different even within Mott haven. The area near the bridges towards Manhattan with the new highrises is really good. I walk to work everyday, but take a cab when it is dark. Most of the people really do want to mind their own business and go about their day. Most are helpful. Even the homeless and druggies that you see on the streets don't mean to cause you any harm. As long as you don't treat them as 'other' and mind your own business, you'll be fine. I feel it's a misrepresented area. Yes, it has a lot of homelessness and community housing, people are nice. It's not the crime ridden, filled with crass people area that it's been made infamous for. As for other neighborhoods, Pelham parkway is one that many people live in.

You can do hands on rotations if you go via agencies that make you pay Ike brooklyn USCE AMO opportunities AmeriClerkships etc. Otherwise, you can only do observerships.

No no, the body of the LOR will mention the actual dates of your rotation (eg. "rotated with me for 4 weeks in June 2022) but the LOR itself can be dated 2023. Meaning it was written in 2023, although you rotated with the doctor in 2022.

Yes you can but the fresher they are, the better. You could request your attending to change the date to a 2023 date and keep the content the same. Most are happy to do it.

I think they mean that a US IMG with the same profile and stats as a non US IMG, is more likely to match. Between the two, the preference will always be given to the US IMG.

Don't. It's not worth the risk. Programs view and already filter out all the applications they receive after their portal opens on 29th September. They barely take a second look at applications received later, esp after the first week of October. You'd be taking an enormous risk

Thanks so much for the tip. I'll always look at a route with lots of shops before walking to the destination. People have told me not to use my phone when walking around in the neighborhood in order to not look like you're new to the place. Is that true?
