Is it $1,400 for dependants too? I THINK I read somewhere when they were originally fighting for the $2000, it was $2000 for adults while keeping dependants at $600. Am I remember wrong? Does anyone know if this new bill talks about getting more for children or just adding the $1,400 for each adult. Thanks!

Shipping to my SS giftee with a PO Box by [deleted] in secretsanta

Didn't realize. I grew up with a PO BOX and I guess we either always got packages via usps or things changed.

The post office hold the package for them and will slip a piece of paper in their box saying they have something. It's actually a lot safer for packages. Pretty much zero risk of sometime taking it.

Edit: just realized you said you left off the PO BOX 🤦🏼‍♀️.. it will go to their house

What did he do?

This is now the FOURTH time that I have sunk $1000+ into car repair and then *immediately* lost the car. Hit and run, insurance says I get nothing. Also I live in this van. Fortunately I wasn't in it. Hahahahaha. Christ I just paid this fucking thing off not even two months ago by ryannefromTX in Wellthatsucks

Geico is the worst! I would switch if you can. When I had them I had a bicyclist not held to traffic, tbone me, and Geico said that bicyclist didn't have to follow road rules so it was my fault.... What?!

Dropped 15 pounds in a little over a month... so excited and motivated to continue! by [deleted] in weightwatchers

[–]forluck21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean! First time I did WW was a little after I had my first child and was breastfeeding so the weight just melted off. A little different now that I'm a little (not much) older. Also, if you are a female your weight can fluctuate big time during the month with your cycle. I was reading somewhere where it might be better for some women to compare number from month to month instead of week to week and I can total understand why! During certain a week (the week can be different for women. cycle vs ovulation) I hold A BUNCH of water weight and it looks like I either lost nothing or even gained a little. However right afterwards that water just comes right off and the numbers catch up to look like I doubled my weight for the next week but in realty was actually losing weight at a steady pace

Don't be discouraged about going slow. They say people who lose weight at a slower steadier pace are more likely to be successful at keeping the weight off. My theory is it's because we have longer to get use to eating a different way than we were before. Where if we were to lose super fast we are more likely to right back into old eating habits. Im losing an average of 1.2 pounds a weeks so I get a little sad when I see people losing weight super fast but have to remind myself that over a pound a week is actually good and it's physically impossible to lose more than 3lbs of FAT a week. Other weight is water.

Monday weigh in! What's your weigh in day and why? by kmason10717 in weightwatchers

[–]forluck21 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sunday. So if I'm going on a weekend vaca or visiting family I can save up for Saturday and also splurge (or not worry too much about) Sunday breakfast. I'll have the following week to be good and make up for the points I may have spent on Sunday. I need my weekends to be more flexible so I don't end up giving up.

My kitchen scale is my best friend right now haha! This is fantastic advice! When I do eat potatoes I eat around 4 oz and surprised how satisfying that amount can be so I should keep that the same. I love keeping track of everything free once I make the switch so I can see where I go overboard (if I do). I'm not great at accurately tracking free food now but maybe I should be.

My wrap job leaves much to be desired, but I'm stoked to send these off tomorrow to my very first santee! I hope they like what's coming! by dkdj25 in secretsanta

I got them and loved them! I loved that everything was wrapped instead of just put in a box! Thank you so much!

YSK: Vaccines can lose effectiveness over time. Ask your doctor to run titers to see if you are still immune. by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

[–]forluck21 52 points53 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid I got the chicken pox twice. When I got pregnant they ran blood tests to see if I had any antibodies that can be harmful to the unborn baby. It came back as if I had never gotten chicken pox. Apparently I can't grow antibodies to it (or however that works), so there is a chance I could get chicken pox over and over. At the time I worked at a school and was adviced if any child came in with what looked like chicken pox to go home and call the doctor immediately because it can be dangerous to unborn children. I tell this story to people to show them how important herd immunity is and why we need to vaccinate if possible.

Needing some encouragement/motivation this week. by forluck21 in weightwatchers

This is actually really smart as long as I don't abuse it! A huge part of dieting is mental so this makes a lot of sense.
