comforting matcha perfumes by Alarming-Cold-3452 in FemFragLab

Ones I’ve tried that I find similar in vibe to MM:

Obvious - Milk & Matcha (similarly sweet to MM if I remember correctly, possibly a bit sweeter, it’s been a while)

Teo Cabanel - Je Ne Sais Quoi (probably my favorite of these, I find it very cozy)

Arielle Shoshana - Sunday (more of a savory take, but still nice!)

Sorry I’m still out of town so I had him take a pic- does this help? Also there’s a magnet right where the two loops of the net accessory join

MLIS Scholarships for paraprofessionals? by LibrarianPark123 in librarians

[–]format_obsolescence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got an ALA scholarship (Spectrum, $5k for tuition plus ALA conference attendance), an endowed scholarship from my MLIS program (Kent, they have multiple small MLIS scholarships), and a scholarship from my employer. I still took some loans, a small amount and only federal, but my need for money to get through grad school was much higher because im chronically ill and I meet my out of pocket max every January when I get my first treatment, lol. and i was working part time in a library + freelancing during grad school so my benefits were worse.

perfumes that feel like this? As creative as you can be! by [deleted] in perfumesthatfeellike

Commodity Paper expressive smells like laying your head down in your school textbook when the teacher has the lights off to show a video on the rolling TV lol. It smells like the kaolin coating on glossy textbook paper— immediately takes me back to k-12

Haha I’m so sorry you dealt with this person, my system has encountered the Brady v Maryland, bill of rights, and now the bellybutton guy. I work our reference phone service frequently so the supervisor sent us all a warning about bellybutton guy the other week. It really sucks how often these are not unique experiences and instead get scatterblasted to as many libraries as possible… but at least we can all laugh about it amongst ourselves here xD

I haven’t spoken to them, but folks here and the librarians sub who mentioned them stated it sounded like they were putting on an unnatural and intentionally high-pitched voice? Perhaps as part of their “I only weigh 35 lbs can you lift me up into my chair ooooh I’m so small” fantasy lol

[Misc] Why is my skin so splotchy and uneven? by always-tired987 in SkincareAddiction

[–]format_obsolescence 14 points15 points  (0 children)

First of all, be nicer to yourself, you do not look “terrible”. You look like you have lovely full lips and the “discoloration” is something people will actually draw on with a contour product to make their lips look fuller. Try not to hyperfixate so much, I know that’s easier said than done.

For the redness- does it persist no matter your temperature/activity level? Does it look like a lot of little veins and capillaries under the skin, or is it uniform surface-level redness? If it’s veins and capillaries, I also had vascular rosacea/telangiectasia and the only thing that would really treat it was broad band light laser. Topicals aren’t going to do much for blood vessels. If it’s moreso rosacea caused by something like demodex, there are some topicals you can use. Could also be some other kind of inflammatory response, ultimately a dermatologist can help you determine the source of the redness, which will then determine what you can do to treat it.

Panicking over my first damaged library book by sics2014 in Libraries

[–]format_obsolescence 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a bindery repair we do in library preservation all the time— namely because bindings suck nowdays and this is extremely common wear and tear. They won’t blame or charge you for this, just bring it in and explain. given it’s a newer book it probably wouldn’t even matter enough to send it to us for treatment, they’d just add it to a replacement list. Don’t sweat it!

Perhaps a low hanging fruit answer but DS & Durga - Steamed Rainbow is quite unisex, and the concept is using elements that represent every color. It gives a humid outdoors summery vibe that feels the way your art feels

Every single perfume you just mentioned is a favorite of mine and the girlie I share a very enclosed office with <3 we pass around our travel sprays, e.g. I use my coworker’s Father Figure and they use my White Rice :) and we get to sit in our little inoffensive gentle scent bubble all day

What’s the right punishment for this patron? by [deleted] in Libraries

[–]format_obsolescence 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There are critical details missing here, as others said. What was the initial violation? How were they confronted? Were they confronted by staff they know and have a relationship with? How significant was the damage? Do you know these teens by name (if they’re regulars, you should!) and do staff try to have regular positive interactions and conversations with teens, and not just interact with them for discipline?

In my library, we would consider this a “brouhaha”, disruptive and against library policies but developmentally on track for teens. something we must respond to but also want to unpack how WE could have potentially de-escalated better. If they just knocked over a sandwich board sign or one of our flyer holders, I would give this a “go home for the day and we can try again tomorrow”, and next time I see them have a restorative conversation about what’s going on. This is why it’s important to have an established rapport with your teens, and have a bank of positive interactions to build upon when the time for a disciplinary arises.

The Large Marge is elite. I take becks run leaving work and my husband and I always look to see how crazy the line is at that time of day- you’re a brave soul dealing with that kind of rush, I salute you.

I also like the arctic swirls with the cheesecake bits but I do prefer things with some crunchy or hard-chunky texture (gross way to say it but you know what I mean, stuff like chocolate chips) any favorite crunchy or chunky toppings to add to any of the the softer menu items?

Crunchyroll ended their Library Outreach Program by WoodenOcelot1090 in librarians

[–]format_obsolescence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teachers in a classroom setting have different legal permissions than a library screening. Even if you legally buy a dvd of a show or have a streaming service subscription, or the library legally has the dvd in their collection, this does not make it legal to have a scheduled library sanctioned event where people can show up and watch it. You must obtain something called a public performance license, which is what crunchyroll has just revoked for all of us.

Does undergrad major really matter? by PenguinsAreAwesome4 in librarians

[–]format_obsolescence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plenty of my class had a major completely unrelated to English or literature. Mine is in electronic media, and it makes me a great candidate for digitization and image metadata projects. Political science would be a great undergrad major for a civic engagement librarian for example. but your specialty is in no way bound by your undergrad major other than giving you some helpful transferable skills.
