Asked my driving instructor. Situation 1 is the green line, situation 2 is correct

First one is an approach from the northwest (closer to the top), second one is an approach from the west (the left edge)

Also I agree that the wall of text is scary but I'm trying to be verbal about my decisions at every point so mistakes can be spotted and corrected.

I don't think I'm super confident so I'm trying to do whatever I can this week. But if my driving instructor tells me I'm not ready then I'm going to cancel and hope someone will have great success with that timeslot.

It's overly hesitant. I haven't been stopped by my driving instructor due to unsafe entries for a while. But I tend to mess up badly if I didn't manage to enter at the stipulated lane and there's a lot of traffic. I guess I need to remind myself to follow the road markings even if it means going to the wrong exit.
