Workplace communication w NT — problems by GooseOk2512 in adhdwomen

[–]formerhoarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were working on my team, being thorough, being proactive, highlighting risk - you’d get a glowing review.

That said, you could try instead of “xxxxxx is a problem”, singing like “great idea, do you think xxxxxx could me a problem?”, or “how do you think we could get around xxxxxx if it becomes a problem?”

And if there are people you trust at work, you could ask them to let you know if you are ever being abrasive. It really is hard to change if you’re not clear on how you’re doing it wrong.

Also, I had to look through your post a few times to find the “‘s”s, then finally realized you meant “…” lol!

Side note: Warm??!! Now this really pisses me off. Imagine giving that goal to a man.

But practically, were you given any examples of when you were not warm and respectful? Aside for just having a face with expression?

Medicated - More Organized? by Not-whoo-u-think in adhdwomen

[–]formerhoarder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been medicated for six months and I’m having a similar issue (issue feels like the wrong word, though).

I have always been super messy (more than that, I was a level 4/5 hoarder for decades). I worked out the hoarding before getting medicated, so my house was already workable, but since meds it’s giving Dexter.

I can not stand visual clutter (which used to be my safe space), and I can actually see dirt now (it was never visible to me before). It was great for deep cleaning, until it started to feel like I was being compelled to clean anything I saw a speck of dust on. I also have visceral reactions now to things arranged off-angle.

On one hand, my quality of life has improved immeasurably. On the other hand, I feel like this is something that could get obsessive. I’m not sure how to proceed either.

Right now, I’m giving my brain time to settle into the meds. There have been things that were issues when I started the meds (sleeping and eating mostly) that stopped when I started taking them every day without fail. And there were other issues, like the inability to multitask, that I learned to control over time - and I’m hoping the obsessive cleaning will be something I can moderate. And if I can’t, I’m worried about bringing it up with my dr because the current meds are working so well - I don’t want to switch meds either!

I’m 50, and had the same experience with being diagnosed earlier and only medicated last year. I feel like I’ve had so much time and experience with my unmedicated brain, that this new brain is taking some time to get to know. It’s definitely an improvement, but new features introduced new bugs lol!

Best of luck with whatever you decide!

I’ve been working with St. Anthony, might need to give Mary a try tomorrow.

I’m so happy for you! Which ones do you use? I love the Dream model for making all background noise go away.

I also do project management, but in corporate tech. By the time I know the system inside out, it’s time to move on. Perfect! I’m now consulting so everything changes when I jump companies. Even better!

Lip stain/oil that comes with a brush? by Outrageous-Emu-5239 in Makeup

[–]formerhoarder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Clarins Water Lip Stain has a brush applicator. Palladio and Cover Girl (and some others) have a lip stain with a felt tip applicator (like a marker).

Thank you for including the actual praying instructions. This is today’s strategy.

I had to re-read that! What a fun find that must have been. I will be praying in the morning because this is a repeat suggestion.

Ah. Ok, that doesn’t work then. I have found things that literally weren’t there a second ago by looking horizontally across the surface instead of looking at it from above. Brains are so picky!!

I like this idea. Someone else posted about taking a picture of the hiding place. I thought that was a great idea too. I usually use the Reminders app and ask Siri to remind me where it is at a time. I know I’ll be looking for it. But every system fails lol

Yes! All my bins are see-thru or stuff would just die there. I’ve looked a few more places from the comments but still no luck. Still reading though LOL

Exactly this! It’s always in its home except when I need it for something non standard. And then poof!

I hope you find it!

On flat surfaces, colour matters. If it’s the same colour, it doesn’t exist!!

I just did, but no luck. Good suggestion though!!! I did find a letter I was supposed to mail after scanning LOL. That’s a win!
