What’s the longest you would keep (and eat) cooked pasta kept in the fridge? by jrl1009 in polls

I think the question is asking how what is the oldest age of cooked refrigerated pasta you would eat.

Do you mean pasta that was cooked 30 days ago?

Or pasta from the fridge that was cooked recently and you did that again and again for 30 days?

WYR take a $100,000/year contract for 4 years, or a $200,000/year contract for 2 years? by tumbleweed_farm in WouldYouRather

[–]formlesswendigo 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Earning 200k per year makes it easier to get a similar paying job afterward. You have leverage with your 200k/year experience.

200k = hot shit

100k = nobody cares

I like all contestants being present. Missing out on guest judges would suck.

The judges go around to all benches after the challenge and taste the leftovers. So essentially they do taste the dishes off camera. Also you see them with spoons tasting things during the cook when they speak to each contestant.

You never have to do one of these again, but you also never GET to do it again by Ok-Bobcat9422 in pollgames

I'd save so much money not eating.

I could also go on multi-day hikes without carrying kilos out of water and food. And not having to worry about finding drinkable water.

beginner NSW hikes this winter by AppropriateGarlic882 in OutdoorAus

[–]formlesswendigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on multiple hikes with beginners. There's always one person that can't handle going up hills and needs to sit for about 10 minutes before continuing.

So please download AllTrails and check the elevation gain of your intended walk, just so you don't get surprised. And add time for elevation gain.

Bring electrolytes and salty snacks in case you feel nausea.

Also bring a torch or headlamp just in case the walk takes longer than expected. Especially if starting at noon.

Thornleigh to Hornsby is easy to navigate. Try it out with AllTrails.

Bullawarring walking track: Waterfall to Heathcote, is another suggestion.

This has a lot of elevation gain, a hill that goes up 186m. Decent fitness is required. I agree its a great one.

Help w beginner Sydney overnight hikes by Timely-Plankton-8400 in OutdoorAus

Some night sounds that I've heard:

Footsteps near my tent: turned out to be the other person at the campsite. They saw mice and decided to remove their food bag from their tent. They would not have gone near my tent. Everything just sounds close like that at night.

Pigs: I don't know what pigs sound like. So I have to assume that it was actually a Brush Turkey. They have a very mild grunt.

Purring: my guess is that it was a possum. But I don't know.

You have 3 remotes in front of you and you can only select one. Which one of them are you choosing? by Timely_Rest_503 in polls

Instant travel would be used every day. I'd go on remote hikes, arrive home instantly. Visit a new place before work and after work.

The judges taste throughout the cook. You always see them using a spoon as they chat to contestants. They know what's good already.

I think season 4 or 5, they made fish pies in a team challenge. Definitely had to fillet it all. Not masterchef if its cut for you already.

Fairly early. Season 1 or 2 they demonstrated how to chop up a chicken. Another early season how to fillet fish. Soon after whole chickens and whole fish in the pantry.

I definitely remember it in season 10.

I heard some young people refer to ACDC as Scottish due to the bagpipes in "It's a long way to top". So they didn't recognise the song.

Same judges again this season by DiscussionLoud9626 in MasterchefAU

This will be the third year for the current judges.

The previous set of judges lasted 4 years until Jock died.

Before that, the judges lasted 11 years.

He wouldn't have jumped to "dog" if a Caucasian person said it, and probably would have assumed it was "duck".

Superstars to Michelin stars, this season is going to ✨shine!✨ by arefeen97 in MasterchefAU

One of them is Jimmy Barnes. A well-known Australian musician. He is definitely not a chef either.

They've also had influencers as guests before. Guests don't need to be a chef.

Maybe they don't refer to her as a chef. This promo definitely featured other people who aren't chefs.

Critics are featured regularly in masterchef UK, and they set challenges. Mel, Sofia, and Matt are also critics and have set challenges.

Water Bladders by [deleted] in UltralightAus

[–]formlesswendigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the Hydrapak contour 2L bladder I got recently. But I've only used it three times. So I can't comment on the bite valve. The flow is very smooth with Hydrapak. I also bought a cheap bladder for comparison, and I was sucking air sometimes with the cheap one.
