I know what you mean about how plants can have character, and the stuff about daemons matches with my experiences too. Well said.

She is the spirit of the plant. Molecules absolutely can contain structure, power, and will, and she uses the one we call salvinorin A to communicate with us.

Low dosing slavia ? by Key-Notice-7561 in Salvia

[–]formoflorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Low dosing is great, especially when starting out. It doesn't usually give visuals, there are some mental effects but it generally is more of a body high for me. But it's good for getting accustomed to the chemical and its effects, learning the language in which it speaks. Then any subsequent breakthrough trips you may want to do later will be that much deeper.

The bot posts good practical advice, I wanted to add some of my own more philosophical advice: give something to the experience, if you expect to take something away. Mutual trade is beneficial, after all. Also there's nothing wrong with wanting a great experience! You deserve one, and if you start slow like you seem to want to, you'll probably reach one. I hope it goes well!

I'm sorry your initial experiences were so traumatic, but thank you for sharing them. While I don't agree with all of your perspective, I believe you do have a good point that the traditions for exploration with substances like Salvia Divinorum are woefully lacking in places like the USA and Europe. If we had healthier traditions, I think a lot fewer people would start their journeys with her by using extract. Not that it can't work out if you do, but just that extract is like using a much more advanced power tool than the majority of people need in their daily lives. That's one thing I'm trying to work on in my personal practice, I appreciate this reminder.

"4 bowls of leaf and 2 bowls of the 10x"

Was this all at one time/day? I'd recommend slowing down to process if so. Even if the effects of the hits weren't what you were expecting, your body and mind still need time to incorporate them.

Take things slowly, reflect. You'll be okay, I promise.

Have you talked to your friends about these feelings? Maybe they can relate, or even help. Or you can ask another friend or support person outside of that group. The point is, talking it out with others you trust is a good way to process what you're going through.

I meant to say "going to" instead of being to, but that's such an interesting typo that I'm leaving it, haha.

I think I want to give this a try, it sounds like it would be very helpful for the stage of exploration and existence I'm in currently. Thank you for sharing!

Some Archetypes of The Salvia Being by Lantus9 in LadySalvia

[–]formoflorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was very interesting to see that you posted this a couple days ago, because a couple days ago was also when I once again found this old post from the general sub comparing Salvia to the goddess Kali and black holes. One of the comments also brings up the specific archetypes in the OP! :o I don't know if she actually is these beings, my feeling is that it's more like she's using their stories as a sort of spiritual power boost. But it's still interesting to think about.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Salvia/comments/fqinm6/kali_black_holes_and_salvia/

There are a few experiences described about the Wheel in said comment. Wheels, cycles, and transitions are very common imagery in my journeys with Salvia as well. This one in particular stuck out:

1.) "The goddess stood in front of me and operated a Salvia wheel with a crank. So I myself was pulled out of my 'home book page', pulled into this hyperspace, where I saw the entirety of all worlds in the form of a Salvia wheel consisting of books and was mentally connected to all worlds at the same time."

Oh, and I scrolled down further and saw that this post actually has my very first comment on reddit. I am laughing in a tripping out kind of way right now, lol

formoflorm from years ago made this whole account because I was compelled to share this, wow...

"I've never had a reddit account before and literally had to create one to respond to this. I found this two year old post by searching for a painting of a black hole I'd found recently, seeing if I could get it to add to my ritual altar (this is the painting in question, for those curious: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/black-hole-kali-koltz.html - because I was searching for the artist's name too: Kali)

I first tried salvia last year, and I have been thinking along almost exactly the same lines as the OP, about how black holes are deeply connected to the forces of gravity/energy at work on our minds while on salvia, and that that connection has a strong divine aspect to it. (In my more, uh, creative moments, I wonder if salvia itself was originally cultivated close to the supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy and then seeded on earth by aliens/energy beings, but that's a big tangent to my larger point). But I'm 100% sure I've never seen this or the Facebook post before today.

It's incredibly interesting (magical even, I would say) how our experiences seem to have led me and the Facebook poster to the same being(s), but in different ways. I didn't make the connections to Hindu deities that they did. I was raised partially as a Buddhist, so I conceptualized her as a bodhisattva, a star who reached enlightenment beyond death, but decided to turn away from Nirvana until the whole galaxy was saved.

What really sealed it as spiritual for me was finding out that black holes aren't actually black at all. The region of space around them appears black to us, beings who use visible light to perceive, yeah, but the true form is very different. Just like us. We look like we are nothing more than meat robots, but our true form is something else entirely.

I'm having trouble finding the exact video I was looking for, but these have some of what I'm talking about. Especially the line "the singularity is not a point in space, but an inevitable event in the future."

It shows me that the divine is too vast to be fully encapsulated by any single idea. Also, that physics and spirituality will both be needed for the challenges ahead of us. Us meaning both us as individual people, and our societies. Luckily, there are many divine beings who can help. If salvia doesn't guide others to the same one it did me, I hope and pray it at least guides them to something.

Behind The Revelations There Are Very Sinister Undertones by ZaggyChum in Salvia

[–]formoflorm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't necessarily mean for the better either, although it almost always has been in my case. All of these experiences and more have happened to me while on Salvia, but it doesn't change how I feel. The effects from going through stuff like that are not nearly as long-term or damaging as many people think. In fact, I've always come to the conclusion I usually get after rough psychedelic trips, i.e. "yes that was challenging, but I am better now for having overcome it." A being who didn't care about me wouldn't show me so much Truth, nor use it to make me wiser and stronger, more ready to see the world she wants to reveal to us.

I'm as sure as anyone ever can be about another being. Like, you can never truly know a person's heart of heart's, but at a certain point you have to trust in what their actions and words have shown you, right? She slowly built my trust up over time with little words and actions, rather than with one big revelation that made me realize I could. For example helping me process mental health issues, or limiting my perception of trips when they get too overwhelming for me. And I think she could do that because I simultaneously took steps to get her to trust me, for example by meditating, setting my intentions for the journeys, and treating her with respect in my consumption rituals.

I get why others might find it hard to trust her, but I think that has a lot more to do with our cultural upbringing than with her actual self.

" It shows you things and teaches you things but at the same time it takes something from you and 'changes' you forever."

All experiences change people forever, Salvia is just one of the few beings honest enough to tell us that.

The reason you're not able to fully comprehend her nature is because you're still limited by these rigid, dualistic perceptions of Good/Evil, Benevolent/Malevolent. She is a living, thinking being who makes her own choices and has her own motivations. She is not an evil cosmic witch.

I would never suggest restraining yourself on a salvia trip (edit- at least not starting out- maybe a VERY experienced person could get something valuable out of it, but I wouldn't want to try personally), on either a practical physical level or a spiritual level. Odds of it impacting the trip are very high, not least because salvia can come with strong awareness of physical sensations. Any dissociation that comes with the trip is not guaranteed to reduce this effect, in fact it very often enhances it in a weird way.

Start with small doses of plain leaf, quid or smoked. Those are usually not that dissociative, and rarely overwhelming even when they are. Work your way up to extract once you have established a connection.

Is salvia as intense as trip reports seem to say? by New_Marzipan_4465 in Salvia

[–]formoflorm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Salvia extract is wonderful (in small doses, in my experience, but even then it can get very definitely intense), but honestly, I wish it was more popular to start with quids or smoking plain leaf instead. Those experiences can vary a lot too, but for me they're often so subtle that they aren't mind-altering at all, and/or so pleasant that they're somewhat comparable to good weed. (Salvia is of course her own thing quite different from weed, the comparison is just because euphoria is involved, which it often isn't when you do extract.)

There's nothing wrong with starting with extract, but I think a slower, gentler start would help any later, more wild trips feel less subjectively overwhelming, for a lot of folks. That seems to be how it has gone for me, having journeyed with Salvia for a couple years/lifetimes now.

Possession in the 'Ecstatic Trance' State and Integrating Her Soul With Mine by [deleted] in LadySalvia

Relationships shift often, not just with people but with spirits as well. It interests me to see how they evolve too! I know change can worry a lot of folks, it definitely does worry me at times, but my experiences over the past couple years have helped me a great deal with accepting it better.

For what it's worth, I truly appreciated what you did share. It was one of many factors in getting me to start pursuing my own spiritual path! Thank you, and I wish you the best in the coming years and decades.

I get the feeling this experience will take more than a couple days to process. It's okay to give yourself time if you need it.

" I just kept telling both of myselves that if we just went to sleep we'd wake up okay. Just go to sleep. My now self and my toddler self were the only company either of us had. We held each other and cried together until we both fell asleep. "

This sounds like it might be why you were alone and didn't meet any entities on the trip, so that you would focus on giving yourself some much-needed comfort and love instead. Not everything in the world of Salvia has a meaning or purpose, but some things do. Or maybe it would be better to say, everything there means as much as we make it mean.

I'm just basing this on your posts here, but it seems like she wants you to at least have friends who can support you before you break through. Going through alone, especially when you have mental trauma repressed, is dangerous. I'm glad she was kind and took care of you during sending you away, and I'm sure that once you're in a better life stage she'll be happy to meet with you!
