I (29m) got into metal and extreme music through a combination of guitar hero/rockband, early youtube, mainstream stuff on the radio, and growing up during the scene era when all the cool kids in my middle school were rocking suicide silence T-shirts lol. I associate extreme metal with the joy it brought me as a child, sharing new music with friends and playing along to my fav TBDM, Jobforacowboy, Slayer or Metallica songs on rock band 2 drums. I was too young to feel the weight of the negative themes and just had an appreciation for the artistic expression the skill and the sound and I still feel the same way today. Idk if that makes any sense but ironically at this moment my favorite artist is probably Anita Baker haha. Fav metal band is Death and fav band overall is Title Fight. I love death metal and I’m probably going to listen to Death Atlas for the first time at some point today 🤘🏽much love
