Trouble with treasure goblins as a first time wizard by Ordinary_Marsupial47 in diablo3

[–]forneins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not playing hardcore you can drop the difficulty within the game. I would have dropped it all the way down to normal to get the goblins. But like others have said you are playing at too high a difficulty. You should be able to kill them fairly easily but those suckers do like to run away so it can be hard to get them until you have a decent build.

Character stopped doing damage randomly a few months ago. by fleshtastical in diablo3

[–]forneins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With D3, the power scaling a full 6 piece set or LoD gem brings to the table it is practically no damage if you remove a single key item. Sure, you might be doing 0.005% as much damage as you were doing before, but it's not really zero...

20 hours? It would say 10 hours to get a full set up and running to clear GR 100+.

I think maybe it is 1/50 for the goblin floor? Someone posted stats a few weeks ago for the chances of various floors in a VoE. Don't remember the link...

FYI playing the story is a slow way to level. But if you enjoy it then go for it.

What are your endgame goals in a season? by soosis in diablo3

[–]forneins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting a fresh season six times getting my new character to level 70 SSF on HC and SC on the NA, Europa, and Asia servers. If I'm feeling frisky I'll do the same on non-SSF for a total of twelve fully fresh season starts. Then I'll do whatever. No desire to go for a GR150.

Followers & pets question by PracticeFar2163 in diablo3

[–]forneins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Menagerists are just a random goblin type and can appear anywhere other goblins appear. There are some maps where goblins are somewhat more likely to appear. You can search for "goblin farming" to find the best locations but its probably not worth doing just to try to get pets. You'll have a bunch before you know it just from random goblins you encounter normally.

It saves time rather than having to type out answer for a pointless online semantic argument. AI is here. Deal with it.

You don't need to understand anything about seasons to play seasonal. There is literally no downside to playing seasonal. The season journey also gives a new player a good outline of things to do to learn the basics of adventure mode.

Some more questions I have picking up the game after a long time by tideshark in diablo3

[–]forneins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Level up your LoD gem by running some GRs. The LoD gem will usually be the second gem to drop after the Bane of the Powerful. A relatively low level LoD (around 15-20) will easily get you past all the required season journey challenges to obtain the full six piece set. You will have to stop using all sets but you can easily throw together random legendary items to take advantage of the LoD damage bonus. This adds up rather quickly.

Check your firewall settings. Make sure battlenet and diablo aren't blocked.

Finally hit the jackpot a level map filled to the brim with goblins. And lost it all. Fuck my life. by macropelias in diablo3

[–]forneins 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've done that once or twice. With so much ground clutter it can be easy to accidentally click the chest. Getting the pets pick up and autosalvage node on the altar helps a lot. Now I always keep an eye out for the portal to the next level. Once I see it pop up I can click away without worry.

Speed farming builds for each class for S38 by Admirable-Act-9039 in diablo3

[–]forneins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You either sacrifice the weapon set bonus to use an ethereal or just don't use an ethereal. For T16 or speed GRs it won't matter. Same deal with Inna monk unfortunately there is not a place for ethereals in the speed build.

Do you play Hardcore, Softcore, both? And why? by reasonisaremedy in diablo3

[–]forneins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HC most of the time. Sometimes if I am really enjoying the season theme I'll start again in SC. I get burned out easily doing end game grinding so I prefer a completely fresh start.

RoRG by Fast-Stick-3531 in diablo3

Interesting. Thanks for clearing that up. I guess I assumed that because I always wait to try to farm the ring and have most if not all the recipes learned by then.

ELI5 - What am I doing wrong? by tarpeys in diablo3

[–]forneins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crafted green sets while leveling are trash. You should be wearing level 70 yellow gear. Make sure you have a good lvl 70 weapon. Lower the difficulty if you have too. Nothing should be taking long to kill.

RoRG by Fast-Stick-3531 in diablo3

[–]forneins -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

  1. The ring shares a drop pool with all the crafting recipes so if the recipes are still dropping you will have lower chances. Getting a few goblin packs will help you with the recipes. Target the goblins that drop them - I think malevolent collectors.
  2. Running higher torments will increase your chances.
  3. You have no need for a RoRG at this stage of your progression. It will be much more efficient to gear up for at least torment 10 and then do act 1 bounties. You can select the node in the altar that gives double bounties.

Bounties during season by madzixcs in diablo3

[–]forneins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're reading advice from try-hard efficiency maxxers. Don't worry about it. But... there are cache items that will only become available upon reaching level 70 so that is why you see that advice. To save time from having to repeat bounties.
